Cover painting
[edit]Does anyone know who painted the cover? I can't find a source anywhere, not even in the album's liner notes.

Why was my information for the 10 track Capitol budget reissue LP in the early 1980s deleted from the In The Wee Small Hours page?
[edit]I'm getting very tired of other people going in to music pages I edit and clean up, and remove my information.
I worked in college, FM and AM radio in Canada from 1975 to 1989. I also worked in music retail from 1989 to 1996. In radio one of my jobs was a facts checker. This was long before the Interweb and sites such as Wikipedia. I have a wealth of musical knowledge, which I'd like to use here at Wikipedia. But it's very annoying when other people go in after I'd posted some information and delete it.
In The Wee Small Hours is probably Frank Sinatra's greatest album period. The Wiki page on that album and other music albums should be allowed to contain as much revelant material as possible. Capitol Records U.S. botched the mono 180 gram reissue LP in 2009. They used the wrong mono master tape (which Sintra collectors and audiophiles refer to as the "wet" mix). For some reason the early-mid 1960s Capitol U.S. took Franks' 1950s mono albums and reissued them adding some echo and reverb to the final product. Sintra's purists do not like this. This type of information should be pointed out in album entries.
The initial 2009 reissue LP pressing also contained a wrong song at the end of Side 1. If I remember correctly, that was once mentioned in the album entry and was later edited out. Capitol U.S. recalled the remaining stock from retailers and fixed the mistake.
My mention of the 10 track budget Capitol reissue LP from the early 1980s is important because it is abridged. Also because Captiol used the correct "dry" mono mix. As a Sintra collector, that type of information is important. Capitol U.S. did a surpeb job on that reissue. Too bad it wasn't the full 16 track LP.
I noticed in one of the edits, someone typed 1984 in place of my "abridge budget reissue" title. That is incorrect. In 1984 Capitol/EMI U.K. did a big Frank Sintra LP reissue series, digitally mastered by EMI's Alan Dell. These reissues have great sound. I own the In The Wee Small Hours and several other LPs.
In summary, the Sinatra In The Wee Small Hours page should contain the 10 track budget reissue release information, and there should also be a mention of the botched 2009 LP and an explanation of the "wet" and "dry" albums versions released over the years. This type of information is important to Sinatra fans and collectors. This kind of detailed information will only help the Wiki pages become one of the best Internet sources for music information. Too much trivia ?
[edit]Is it just me or does this article have way too much trivia that is not even associated with the album or in keeping with the standards that should define an encyclopedic entry? Just saying, please consider pruning this bush. FiggazWithAttitude (talk) 19:11, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
Remastered releases
[edit]The article currently has: "In 1998 the album was remastered using 20-bit technology under Larry Walsh's supervision at Capitol Recording Studios." On the 1998 release we can find "20 Bit mastering compatible with any CD player." on the back cover (barcode 724349475526). Already the 1991 release has been "Remastered by Larry Walsh at Capitol Recording Studios" (barcode 077779682621, catalog number CDP 7 96826 2). Also the 1988 Japanese release, catalog number CP32-5291, and the release with catalog number CDP 7 46571 2 (also 1988?) have the same remastering info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.149.172.207 (talk) 21:33, 16 January 2022 (UTC)
