Fair use rationale for Image:Tni-au auri f86.jpg

[edit]

Image:Tni-au auri f86.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Squadrons

[edit]

Note i haven't finished the squadrons so if any1 wanna help me with that--Heaven's Army (talk) 09:22, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should remove KFX from the aircraft inventory list, as it is still in the research/design phase, and whether it will enter service in 2020 is uncertain. Better put the KFX in a separate section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.255.228.41 (talk) 07:52, 20 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Squadron logos

Please note the rationale for the fair use of the squadron logos is disputed. MilborneOne (talk) 23:05, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Accuracy

[edit]

"In 1999, the Indonesian Military staged a military intervention following the East Timor's referendum." I don't remember as I was quite young at the time, but as far as I remember it was only alleged that the Indonesian military was directly involved while it was plain that they weren't acting to stop militias (which were also alleged to include military personnel). So basically the above could be an NPOV comment.--Senor Freebie (talk) 10:29, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Are my eyes playing tricks?

There's a nice image of a flypast on Indonesia's Independence Day that has me flummoxed. The eight larger aircraft in the picture seem to be something we don't mention in the article. Too large for Sukhoi 30s I think. To see the image, go to News Picture Of The Day and scroll through to image number 23. Moriori (talk) 21:37, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Could be Su-27s and F-16s ([1]) MilborneOne (talk) 21:53, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Problem is tho that Indonesia has a total five Su-27s in their inventory according to our article, but there are eight large aircraft in the photo. Moriori (talk) 22:09, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The Indonesian Air Force also has 11 Su-30s, which are very similar to the Su-27s. That's a total of 16 - and it seems they got enough flying to make up the formation in the picture. Davidelit (Talk) 01:49, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest, if possible, to use images of the planes with Indonesian camouflage for the aircraft in the table. Hardtofindausername (talk) 20:30, 20 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Cleaning up the article

[edit]

So I think most people would agree that this page is a bit of a mess of lists upon lists, presenting a whole bunch of correct, but perhaps not entirely relevant to the main page of of the TNI-AU. To this end, I propose the following changes.

1: We remove the list of all previous commanders. From what I can find, no other major airforce page has a list of all it's previous commanders. It clutters up the page and makes it akward to read. I would suggest that it would be better on a new "military commanders of TNI" or some such total.

2: The list of all the squadrons is the same thing. Other major pages don't do it, and it leaves the page a bit of a nightmare to read. Also probably worth spinning of into it's own page. At least the list should be made a bit more compact with the removal of the squadron logos.

I know that there are many Indonesian editors that are very protective over this page, so I am keen for other people to say what they think regarding this ideas.

Cheers The Australian Red Man (talk) 21:09, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am 100% agree to clean up the article as there are too many redundant point such as:
  1. History section is just too overly detailed... its a nightmare just to see the article
  2. Aircraft and missiles section, section title already have wikilink to equipment of air force which includes list of aircraft and missiles
  3. Strength of Troop section, which basicly Paskhas section and air operational command section, and already described on organization section and Paskhas main article. Also Kohanudnas is not part of Air Force, it should not be included in this article.
  4. List of commander, actually I agree to put on separate article named "TNI Commander".
Cheers Ckfasdf (talk) 3:14, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
They only thing I think we could drop is the "Chief of Staff of the Air Force" list really has no educational value - FOX 52 (talk) 05:41, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please elaborate why we cannot drop other points. Ckfasdf (talk) 8:24 , 15 March 2018 (UTC)
If you cannot explain why we cannot drop other points, then I will start to clean up those points one-by-one (if possible put the details of changes here too) Ckfasdf (talk) 22:31 , 15 March 2018 (UTC)
@Ckfasdf: OK after getting a better look at those issues, I'll go ahead and combine the aircraft / missile tables on to the other page -cheers FOX 52 (talk) 01:48, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@FOX 52: Thank you... My plan to clean up the page are as follows:
1. removed anything related to or part of kohanudnas (already done)
2. remove "force structure" and "strength of troops" section, and merge info previously on that section to "organization"
3. remove list of current aircraft as it's already have other page dedicated for it.
4. create article for indonesian military commander and move info regarding chief of staff of the air force into that page
other area that i planned to clean up is history and squadron list.... but, i dont have any idea on how to clean up that area yet. - Ckfasdf (talk) 2:15 , 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Well I'll go ahead and incorporate the aircraft / missile tables on the equipment page -FOX 52 (talk) 02:19, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate tables

[edit]

Please do not add duplicate retired aircraft tables, since the topic is covered in the Equipment of the Indonesian Air Force article. Secondly the table you added has too many lay out issues - you can view the discussion here and here to understand better - Thank you FOX 52 (talk) 03:03, 14 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
