Discussion
[edit]There is little information on wikipedia about latinmaericas most important "internet country". The history of telecommunications in mexico is an interesting example of how corrupted the mexican government was / is and how close the ties between business and politics in mexico are. President Gortari de Salinas gave two of the most important state owned companies, TV Atzteca and Telmex to his friends and business-partners, justifying it by "opening the markets" as expected by the WTO, consciously failing to allow competition to enter the markets though. At the end of the story that is what made Carlos Slim the richest man in the World in 2008, living in a country which has an approximated 20% of population under the line of poverty. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.103.31.167 (talk) 19:19, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, yes the government here is corrupt, but that does not mean it is a problem which would make the country poor, just look at Russia, they are more corrupt than us and they are richer. And aproximatley 17% live in extreme poverty, and like 20% in moderated, so most Mexicans are able to afford having PCs and internet. We have more users than any other country in Latin America, thats why telecommunications companies from other countries always make mexico their first latin american choice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.142.66.113 (talk) 01:28, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
I agree with, you, there is very little info about internet in Mexico, I would contribute, but I don't know much about the subject. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.153.76.124 (talk) 00:48, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm sorry i'm not sure how to add my comment here, but the information about Mexico being the Latin American country having the most Internet users is incorrect, Brazil has more users, please check http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats10.htm thank you.
Internet in blank articles should be in a common category
[edit]There are lots of "internet in blank" articles like this one, they should all be in a common category. Mathiastck (talk) 18:52, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
