Advocacy

[edit]

I have removed and changed some of the content on the page recently to ensure the material is relevant and non-NPOV. Please read Wikipedia's policy on advocacy. The page is now looking better but it is something to watch out for. - Knowledgeorder (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:25, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I am not sure to what you are referring, Trankuility. - Knowledgeorder (talk) 04:59, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Several articles were being edited simultaneously, and there are several examples, but on this one you repeatedly changed a wording about an organization making a report to a UN Treaty Body (the Committee Against Torture) about harmful practices to describe it as an opinion of that organization, "that what it considered to be harmful practices on intersex children continue". The UN Treaty Body receiving the report also considers those practices to be harmful practices. So do many other Treaty Bodies and institutions, including the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, UN Committee on the Rights of People with Disabilities, UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.[1] It is even possible that the Australian organization uses the term because the UN does.Trankuility (talk) 21:17, 21 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
