Praise of her work

[edit]

We shouldn't be making value judgements about the quality or significance of someone's work in Wikipedia's voice. If there is a source that says that this is the standard work, or that it is a thorough exploration, then attribute the statement to that source. Eg: 'The book has been described as the standard work in Irish musicology by Tim Spinks, professor of Musicology at the University of Dublin. Jane Bloggs, writing in Musicology Today in 2016, described the book as a thorough exploration of such and such.' That would be fine, but we can't make those kinds of assertions in Wikipedia's voice, even if they are sourced. GirthSummit (blether) 09:14, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Girth Summit, thanks for the various edits, the talk page etc. I see your point. I found a source that basically says the same thing, but it's now referenced. It wasn't meant to be my own praise. – Aklein62 (talk) 09:24, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
