Work in progress

Dear editors , this is still a work in progress, thank you for patience , and if some one can please guide me with adding pictures it will behoove the page, I may also use some help with the Further reference links J Hudson & Co --Avner Strauss (talk) 18:23, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Cleaning up

I've started some cleaning up and referencing. I couldn't figure out were to put the list of addresses (is it needed?). Ozdaren (talk) 23:24, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

address;

Year Street
1870 17 Mark Street
1882 84 Buckingham Street
1885 131 Barr Street
1888 13 Barr Street
1909 244 Barr Street

I didn't want to make this change without consultation, but, it seems to me that the 3 items listed as 'see also', more properly belong under 'external links'. is it not the case that 'see also' is used for directing the reader to other,related Wikipedia articles? I think so. how's this for an anecdote? an acme whistle cost me a tooth. I was refereeing a rugby match and i did 2 things wrong. i was in the way in goal, and i had my thunderer, contary to policy, in my mouth. the rest shouldn't require description.Toyokuni3 (talk) 18:01, 1 August 2010 (UTC)

I agree, they are external links.Ozdaren (talk) 22:09, 1 August 2010 (UTC)
WP:SOFIXIT. --Muhandes (talk) 15:23, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Some of the external links that were removed contain various amounts of information about the development of police whistles in the UK. The development of these whistles is in tandem with the history of J Hudson & Co and provide a useful insight into how Acme/J Hudson & Co became synonymous with whistles in the UK. I propose to reinstate the most relevant links. Ozdaren (talk) 02:10, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Why not incorporate the important information into the article and give them as a source? As I understand WP:EL that is preferable to giving them as external links. --Muhandes (talk) 05:59, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
In a way that is true as this will provide more citations (which the article lacks). However I'll leave this to someone else who has more interest in whistles. I'm just a passingly interested bystander. Ozdaren (talk) 09:55, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
