Hello. I disagree that this article should be deleted WP:NFOOTY WP:GNG. Jack Gordon was one of the leading professional footballers of the late 1880s and early 1890s. He played for Preston North End when they did the double in 1888-89, that season they were winners of the first ever Football League championship plus the FA Cup. I have added an Honours section to the article to try and make this more clear. I originally created this article in 2008, but have not updated it since. The article has been expanded by other contributors, but I can see that more information could be added. I will look at improving the article in the next few days. I hope that this is ok - Higherwiki (talk) 15:53, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hello. I have now updated this article with more information about his birth and his life after finishing as a footballer. As I say, I believe this article is notable and should not be deleted. There is one further change needed - the article title will need to be updated as his correct birth year is actually 1861. I hope that this is ok - Higherwiki (talk) 12:36, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
Nationality
[edit]From his profile on Findagrave, it appears that he was Irish and not Scottish as referred in his article.
