I've found the Jacques de Vaucanson article by accident, but, having read a book on History of Technology some weeks ago, I've decided to check some info on it. So I've put the note about slide rest lathe. The complete source for the book is: Derry, T.K. & Williams, Trevor I.: A short history on technology. first true robots?

the article gives no explanation to the opening paragraph's claim that he made the first true robots. None of the machines discussed on this page can be labelled as robots, so I'm not quite sure why you've written that he made the first robots. Owen214 (talk) 04:56, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
