Translators notes (ongoing)
[edit]Here I will give updates in regards to anything related to the translation that needs to be noted.
1.0 The corresponding Japanese article is short but the references are scholarly rigorous and relate to the subject. I have completed translation of the most important content which is about 90% of the original Japanese article. However there is content that directly relates to this subject, which is well written with good references.
In particular the following Japanese articles have important content which is not in the English Wikipedia :
- 擬洋風建築 here :[1] Giyōfū architecture Dr.khatmando (talk) 04:34, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
Couple of suggestions
[edit]I am wondering whether there should be a hyphen between 'Japanese' and 'Western'. I note that this reference [2] does so. If so, I can move the page. Also, when I get some time, I'll do some digging for this style in Taiwan, as I think there are at least a few examples there. I had a preliminary look also at Singapore and Malaysia, as they were occupied during WWII, but so far have not found much. merlinVtwelve (talk) 20:42, 25 August 2017 (UTC)
- @MerlinVtwelve: Yes I think that's a good call. See MOS:HYPHEN and examples Sino-Soviet Split, Second Sino-Japanese War. I'll have to come back to this, so please go ahead and change the title if I have not got around to it sooner. Cheers,
