  • I seriously doubt Jared was born in Preston. Probably, if his family was living in Preston at the time (which I don't think is true--he was in high school when they moved there, yes?), he was probably born in Logan Utah.

Questions

[edit]

Why are they linked together under one article? When they divorce, will they still be linked? Are they really even separate people? Have people seen them together? Did they create their own Wikipedia entry? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.45.42.2 (talk) 02:01, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to create separate pages for the two, but someone wouldn't let me. Apparently it wasn't "constructive". Oh, well. It seems really retarded to not have the two film makers as two separate entries. They're not one person. Fact is, Jerusha has done some shorts without her husband, but I'm not sure where to put the info. Someone willing to fix this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.224.184.25 (talk) 20:36, 20 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Jared Hess exists separately now. -Etoile ✩ (talk) 18:47, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Split?

[edit]

I can understand why this is a joint page, since three of their works were done jointly. However with the release of Austenland (film) early in 2013 which is only the work of Jerusha Hess, it would seem there might be reason to seperate the article. On the other hand with the 2012 release of the Napoleon Dynamite TV cartoon listing Jared and Jerusha Hess as the creator/developers, they are clearly still being jointly credited for their work.John Pack Lambert (talk) 03:38, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I just though of more on this matter. Even though Jared and Jerusha co-wrote Napoleaon Dynamite, only Jared Hess is listed as the director. The same seems to be true for their other films. The TV Napoleon Dynamite has a different director, but Jared and Jerusha are jointly listed in all their roles. However with Austenlan (film), Jerusha is now a director, in a project that does not seem to have involved Jared at all, and Jerusha seems to be absent from the production of Loomis Fargo and The Pet, although I did find some speculation that Jerusha might be involved with The Pet if Jared decides to get invovled in script writing there. Actually though I see no evidnece that anything has been done on that prject in the last 15 months, but it might just be in development.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:08, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Jerusha Hess did have production roles in at least 2 pre-Napoleon Dynamite films, although with titles like "second camera assitant" on The Singles Ward and "camera Loader" on Saints and Soldiers I doubt they are worth mentioning.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:13, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, I guess I have to take back my statement that Jared Hess has no role in Austenland, it turns out per this article [1] from the Deseret News, that Jared Hess is an actor in the film. I am not sure that is worth mentioning in the article here.John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:26, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How many children do the Hesses have?

[edit]

Per this article [2] the Hesses adopted another child in early 2013 (they had a child who was 6 in 2009).John Pack Lambert (talk) 04:28, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
