Sue Records

[edit]

The Sue Records Wikipedia article shows that the Sue Records in the article has nothing to do with Jewel/Paula/Ronn Records. There may be an unrelated Sue label, but no verifiable source has been found yet. Steelbeard1 (talk) 18:07, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You´re absolutely right, Sue Records has nothing to do with Jewel Records, but there still existed a subsidiary label called Sue on Jewel Records! --Popiloll (talk) 20:04, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A linkable verifiable citation is still required. Steelbeard1 (talk) 20:06, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A Jewel Records 45 sleeve shown at [1] also shows the Paula and Ronn labels. Steelbeard1 (talk) 20:16, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The citation given stating that there was a sublabel called Sue is questionable because a review of the cited book gives a bad review of the book in question at [2]. The above linked Jewel Records sleeve gives no mention of a Sue label.Steelbeard1 (talk) 22:41, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but the review is the oppinion of one single individual. That isn't enough to reject the encyclopedia as a reliable source. --Popiloll (talk) 04:51, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Mississippi Arts Commission stated in this link [3] that Jewel/Paula was a division of Sue Records in 1999 so that refutes the claim that there was a sublabel called Sue Records. What is unanswered is it is the more familiar Sue Records or a different Sue Records? So the Sue Records reference will be deleted. Steelbeard1 (talk) 10:36, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The United States Patent and Trademark office (www.uspto.gov) TESS database confirms that Louisiana based Sue Records owned the Jewel, Paula and Ronn trademarks at one time. So the info with qualification was added. Steelbeard1 (talk) 10:58, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A linkable reference, a Jewel record label saying that Jewel/Paula/Ronn is a division of Sue, has been added to support the current edit. Steelbeard1 (talk) 11:14, 9 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
