Nationality?

[edit]

I do have one source, a memoir by the poet W.S. Merwin, which describes Lodwick as Irish. Of course, that could have more than one meaning. Other sources say he was born in England, and it seems certain he went to school in England. He definitely served in the British forces. He and the Irish novelist Francis Stuart were friends, and dedicated novels to each other, but that's hardly dispositive. I am not expecting anyone to know, but I just wanted to flag the uncertainty. I'll keep digging.KD Tries Again (talk) 15:51, 30 October 2008 (UTC)KD Tries Again[reply]

There's enough genealogical information on the Lodwick's out there to discount Irish ancestry. Must have been misremembered by Merwin.KD Tries Again (talk) 21:29, 1 November 2008 (UTC)KD Tries Again[reply]
