Date conversions

[edit]

The date conversions are correct IF you use the Julian calendar and the very dubious Thompson - 584285 correlation. Conversions are almost never done like this. Generally when authors use the Thompson correlation they also use the foolish Proleptic Gregorian calendar. Since conversions to Western calendars in books and web sites are not standardized, often wrong and use either the Thompson correlation or the Proleptic Gregorian calendar, this is a problem for Wikipedia editors. A way to solve this would be to only write the year, or give these dates as long Counts with a footnote about the western calendar date. Senor Cuete (talk) 17:47, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
