Commissioned Officer

[edit]

Swedish officerare are not NCOs, NCOs are enlisted personel.

Reg. Comissioned officer

[edit]

Thank you for you note and your comment is indeed valid in the USA. However, a holder of this rank in Sweden is no longer comissioned as officer as an effect of the NBO reform 1982. Comission = Fullmakt. Professional officers in Sweden are hired by the Armed Forces just in the same way as enlisted personnel in the USA. However, the way to become an CO = Comissioned Officer in the USA is to receive a comission from the president of the USA. I changed the line to "Kapten is a military rank". --Malin Randstrom (talk) 06:29, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But "An enlisted rank in the Military of the United States is any rank below a commissioned officer. The term can also be inclusive of noncommissioned officers." Seeing as the official translations of Swedish officer ranks correspond to US/UK commissioned officer ranks, officerare can't be refered to as NCOs or enlisted personel in English, it will only lead to misunderstandings. Thank you for your responses. Doktor Musmatta (talk) 22:07, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Kapten does not correspond to Captain and hence requires a separate page to explain why. This is a detal page of all the references to Captain (Sweden) and thus should not be deleted or merged. --Malin Randstrom (talk) 12:30, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect and unverified claim

[edit]

A Swedish Kapten may fill a variety of roles, up to and including filling staff positions and serving as platoon commanders or as second in command of a company. This is incorrect and should be removed unless proven.

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 01:00, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
