Family

[edit]

I have major reservations about including the names of non-notable members of Eden's family. The article states that the family was "dysfunctional" and then proceeds to name certain members. The names add nothing to the understanding of the article, and increase the likelihood of identifying and embarrassing these individuals. Naming these non-notable people would also seem to breach the spirit of Wikipedia:BLPNAME#Privacy of names. Opinions sought. WWGB (talk) 11:33, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The names are mentioned before the article states the family's dysfunctions. If its "embarrassing" then why would they give out their names to news articles in the first place? Adding names of family members in the article gives us more details about Karise's family, and I'm sure readers would like to know their names. I have seen GA/FA articles of music artists that mention names of family members, even though they have experienced personal struggles. Oz talk 12:17, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The first audition

[edit]

The information provided states that the first song she sung was "its a mans world" by Janis Joplin. I challenge anyone to show me Janis singing the song Karise sung. I believe the song she sung was "its a mans world" by James Brown. Please correct me if Im wrong.05:49, 5 July 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.86.71.20 (talk)

The referenced source article incorrectly attributes the song to Janis Joplin. The song Karise sang is "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ausage (talkcontribs) 22:42, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth

[edit]

If, as expected, Eden turns 20 on 11 July 2012 there should be plenty of references on that day to allow her d.o.b. to be added to the article. WWGB (talk) 01:44, 9 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Karise Eden has no Foster Parents. We are her Aunt and Uncle

[edit]

The article about Karise Eden referred to her "Foster Parents". This is incorrect.

We, Frank and Marilyn Russell are not and never have been Karise Eden's Foster Parents.

We were linked to Karise from four years of age as respite mentoring Aunty and Uncle through "Aunties and Uncles" which is now known as: "Wesley's Aunties and Uncles." http://www.auntiesanduncles.com.au/

The Link was instigated and supported by her Mother Michele. During this time Karise lived at home with her mother and sister and came to our house at least one weekend each month. We continued to be her Aunty and Uncle throughout Karise’s refuge years as Karise’s only approved respite carers through DOCS.

We have not previously acted to correct this error as The Voice was still being broadcast and so not to divert attention from Karise’s career.

However few people outside of Karise’s family and friends have no understanding of the emotional upheaval, pain and sadness caused to us both, Karise’s Mother and her family, after we were incorrectly labelled Karise’s Foster Parents. It is galling to continually find that this mislabelling is still being perpetrated without it being questioned as fact. Which it is not.

We would appreciate this error being corrected.

Beatles comparison

[edit]

"It was one of the four songs recorded by Eden that entered the ARIA Singles Chart top five during the week of 25 June 2012." What is the citation for this, and why are these songs listed under the 'Singles' section of the article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.45.206.208 (talk) 11:21, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
