Notability

[edit]

There's a detailed page on German Wikipedia. One reason for including Fischer here is thay Fischer is one of only a handful of resistance fighters that, until recently, have still suffered neglect in the wake of WWII on account of having been quashed by not one or two but no the dictatorial systems in Austria, fighting actively against all the of them. He also sprang free the now famous resistance fighter Melanie Berger-Voss (aged 102) from a Nazi prison in France - disguised as Gestapo police. To me there is little doubt that Fischer deserves an English entry as he was exemplary in his principled approach an uncompromising path to restore justice and did make a difference for democratic Austria.
