Where is it actually?

[edit]

The article says: "Karnobat municipality is situated in the south-eastern part of the Bulgaria". But look at the map and there it is in the north-eastern part of the country. Look also here--Ufinne (talk) 14:06, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The gazetteer at fallingrain.com lists Karnobat as N 42.65000 E 26.98333. This matches what the Bulgarian page lists. User:Timbabwe —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.46.108.142 (talk) 18:36, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Polyanovgrad

[edit]

The gazetteer Where Once We Walked (p 267, first ed.) gives Polyanovgrad as the primary name for Karnobat, at the same positional coordinates. How does this name relate to this present page? -- Deborahjay (talk) 06:16, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This was the name of the town from 1953 to 1962, during Bulgaria's early socialist period. It was named after the local socialist poet Dimitar Polyanov (1876–1953). TodorBozhinov 10:33, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
