Question
[edit]I have a question: why is ქართლი translated into latin letters as Kartli, when it is actually Qartli? The same would apply to Qartuli - ქართული. Alsandro 09:36, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
- (Just in case anyone sees this six-year-old question:) There are several different transliteration systems in use when Georgian words are brought into English. The Latin k is often used to represent კ, ქ, or even ყ — all of which are basically indistinguishable to native speakers of English. It may not make perfect sense, but it's commonly done and is unlikely to change. — Richwales 06:26, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
