Should other charted songs be included?
Though a second single hasn't been announced yet, 3 songs from her album charted on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, and two more on the Bubbling Under Hot 100. Not to mention similar things happening in Canada as well. Should these be included? 24.107.148.147 (talk) 05:25, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

What charts to be included
I propose we use on the singles chart the same that are currently appearing for the albums + U.S. Pop Songs (Pop Top 40).... --Zefron12 (talk) 15:37, 1 January 2010 (UTC)
- The table used for the singles was originally from the singer's article, so it stays. There's no point in linking to the Billboard European chart when most of the charts linked are from Europe anyway. Also, linking to the Pop Airplay charts is not that important either, she's not some domestic artist with only American success that may need to link to Billboard subcharts to have more than one column.
- This page should be modelled after existing Featured discography pages, e.g. Lily Allen discography, and thus the tables and sections are in line with such articles. Please stop reverting this to that one unspecific table that does not distinguish between credited appearances and mixes songwriting with appearances. Thanks for reading! 155.69.192.63 (talk) 00:53, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Is this needed?
Is a separate article really needed for an artist with only one album and one single? - eo (talk) 15:26, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- I thought about that too, but with the fast success of the album and Blah Blah Blah already debuting at #7 on the Hot 100, a second single is imminent at this point. It's not officially a single yet, but it's bound to be pretty soon. Might as well keep it. Percxyz (Call me Percy, it's easier) 21:13, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- definitely not. most short discographies get merged back to the artist articles that have alot more in them than this. she has only released 1 album and only just 2 singles. Mister sparky (talk) 17:12, 21 January 2010 (UTC)

Right Round
Kesha receives a credit on Right Round everywhere outside the United States. Why is it just in "Other appearances"? It IS part of the Kesha singles chronology in places like Canada and the UK. See here: http://www.billboard.com/charts/canadian-hot-100#/charts/canadian-hot-100?chartDate=2009-03-11 It clearly says Flo Rida featuring Ke$ha, so obviously she has a credit. Instead of in "Other appearances", "Right Round" should be in a featured singles section on the page, and should include chart positions for all charts except the Billboard Hot 100, the only chart where she does not receive the credit. Chele9211 (talk) 02:25, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- Do not add to Template:Kesha unless a consensus is reached to do so.—Iknow23 (talk) 04:45, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't...? But it quite obviously should be on there. She has the credit as shown in the link, and she had the credit for the UK Charts as well. It's definitely part of her (featured singles) discography and I'm baffled as to why she isn't on there now, it's been over one year since Right Round was released, did nobody notice that it said "featuring Ke$ha" on every chart except the American one back then? Chele9211 (talk) 05:17, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
- And here [1] she is not shown. When charts are published, the artist credits are determined by artist management and record labels, so obviously at some point (in this case, Billboard) was told by someone in Flo Rida's or Kesha's camp to remove her name as a featured artist (she was "featured" on the US chart also, but only for 2 weeks, then it was gone). Even the $ in her name is a reference to her not being paid for her work on the song, so obviously something happened there. Seems more appropriate to leave "Right Round" in "other appearances". - eo (talk) 11:26, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
- But on every national iTunes store save for the American one, the song is called "Right Round (feat. Ke$ha)" and other charts such as the UK Chart the credit wasn't removed. Btw the reason for the mix up on the Billboard chart is because Billboard (on their website) cannot have the same song across two of their charts with the artist credit written differently for each, so it was initially entered as featuring Ke$ha - for the Canadian Hot 100 - but to maintain uniformity across the website they had to remove the "featuring Kesha" since the American chart is their main focus - and on that chart that particular song wasn't featuring Kesha. I mean, if there is only one nation where there is no credit on the released single, shouldn't it really be in a featured singles box? There is a reason why Ke$ha isn't credited in the States but obviously it was a local issue. They wouldn't have released the song everywhere else as "Right Round (feat. Ke$ha)" otherwise and the song could've been easily retitled on iTunes stores. If the international label wrote out on the single 'feat. Ke$ha' then she has an official credit. Chele9211 (talk) 20:58, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
- Well first, iTunes is just one retail outlet, and I've seen quite a number of errors and variations on artist credits there, and on Amazon.com, and other online stores, for that matter. Whether Billboard changed the Canadian chart because of the U.S. chart doesn't make sense, and how would you even prove that? Billboard monitors all their charts, whether they're based on U.S. data or Canadian, or whichever genre it is. Additionally, and more obviously, the image for the single does not have Kesha's name anywhere on it [2]. - eo (talk) 11:59, 1 April 2010 (UTC)
- The song has a Kesha credit on every single major digital retailer in Canada, UK, Australia, Germany etc…not just iTunes. Check here at HMV Canada: http://hmvdigital.ca/artists/flo-rida/right-round/01-Right-Round-[feat-Ke-ha]-(Album-Version) … Ke$ha DOES have a credit on the cover, it clearly says feat. Ke$ha underneath the words "Right Round" and it's exactly the same on the British version of HMV Digital. You may also look on Amazon MP3 UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Right-Round-feat-Ke-ha/dp/B001U9IZ8O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dmusic&qid=1270168885&sr=8-3) and she has a credit on the name of the track AND once again the single cover image. Also, here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=89983&st=440 … the title of track and the artist credit is taken directly from R1 and the Official UK Charts Company, the artist credit is clearly Flo Rida feat. Ke$ha. Right Round is a part of Ke$ha's chart history and Wikipedia should reflect that. The UK is one of the largest music markets in the world. If she's credited officially in that country, it's definitely more than an "other appearance." Chele9211 (talk) 00:45, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

←Well, there certainly are arguments for and against the placement of "Right Round" in her main singles, but it'd be nice to get a consensus here. Any one else besides Chele and myself have any comments about this? - eo (talk) 09:58, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Based on what I've seen here, I think it would make sense to have her credited as a featured artist on the song on her Wiki articles/pages (and have it moved from "Related articles" to "Featured singles" on the template, ending this issue once and for all.) However, specific mention of her not featured on the US release of the single should still remain. Percxyz (Call me Percy, it's easier) 10:23, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- That can be sourced to this article, (second page) it outlines the situation specifically. The bolded part "Suddenly Ke$ha-though she wasn't credited on the U.S. version and didn't get paid-was a hot commodity." Fixer23 (talk) 10:40, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you, I knew that Billboard had addressed this specifically (both in the article above and also again in a Chart Beat or Ask Billboard Q&A column - that will take some searching). If the U.S. situation is referenced and consensus is to move "Right Round" then I'm good with that. - eo (talk) 11:29, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Merger proposal

The result of the proposal was Keep (No merge) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me -
Kesha has released only one album so far, and I think that this should all be merged in the main Kesha article until she releases her second album. Currently the main Kesha article has ~30k readable prose. This discography is just 13k. Wikipedia:MUSTARD#Discographies states: "If the discography of an artist, group or work becomes disproportionately large in relation to the rest of the article, it should be split into a subpage list (preferably titled "<Name> discography")." Thus, there won't be much issue with article size. Wikipedia:Splitting advises content forking once readable prose goes beyond 60k. Andrewlp1991 (talk) 01:30, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- I support, not large enough at this time.--WillC 04:30, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose: It's just more work and we'll have to split it once she hits her third album anyway. Alatari (talk) 07:13, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Keep as is She has enough stand alone work for her own discography ..:CK:.. (talk2me) 01:01, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose There are many other discographies with alot less work, some even FL. her body of work is continuing to grow and she is seeming to do alot of collaborations and writes alot of stuff for other artists etc. it should stay as it is. Mister sparky (talk) 15:27, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- It has to be large enough now, not hoping it will become larger in the future. We can't make an article about a movie, tv show, etc that we believe will be made. What you are really saying it that it will grow which is only speculation. At this point, it is list cruft. It can easily fit inside another article.--WillC 04:44, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- as i first said, if discogs this short can be FL than they can definitely be standalone. Mister sparky (talk) 13:39, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- In the lists I've delt with, most have to list atleast 10 different entries. This is far off.--WillC 06:04, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- as i first said, if discogs this short can be FL than they can definitely be standalone. Mister sparky (talk) 13:39, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

- Drake has a discography page and he doesn't even have an album released yet. 155.69.192.86 (talk) 06:48, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose Kesha is a worldwide big artist nowadays... meaning she had a lot of works done... many chart achievements. so, she should have a separate discography page. User:Isadora1234 (talk) 9:05 pm, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose - If her discography article were to be merged with her main article, that would add up to about 45k readable prose (give or take a kilobyte or two, before future additions.) This already borders on the possibility of her main page having to be divided, according to Wikipedia:Splitting#Article_size (slightly, but nevertheless.) In this particular case, that's a "sooner than later" situation when you take into consideration the amount of success she's already achieved (and it doesn't look like it's going to let up anytime soon.) This article isn't so small that it must be merged into her main page, and therefore I find it unnecessary. I think, because we've gone this long with this page's existence, along with good chances of it growing, we may as well leave it be. Percxyz (Call me Percy, it's easier) 15:10, 22 May 2010 (UTC)

I Kissed a Girl
I believe her cameo was once included in the Music videos section, but it was removed without a real reason. Should it be included again, since it seems to be standard practice in other discographies (until a consensus is reached on the current issue with Other chared songs and music videos). Fixer23 (talk) 08:29, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
- No i dont think so. Music video sections are for the artist features and their own videos. It was neither her song nor was she featured in it, simply made a 5 second cameo. Maybe under "Other appearances" if she co-wrote the song or something like that, i dont think a cameo is enough it warrant a mention since its not actually her song nor did she write it (that im aware of) (CK)Lakeshade✽talk2me 09:00, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

In certain territories, Cannibal charted in conjunction with Animal under the title Animal + Cannibal.
This simply isn't true. In most countries, the EP was not released at all. Only the repackage. There wasn't any charting in conjuction with, it wasn't released. Fixer23 (talk) 03:33, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- What that means is Cannibal was not released, so it charted as Animal + Cannibal. Suggest a reword? - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 03:37, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thus Animal + Cannibal should be treated as a deluxe edition of Animal and so the highest peak of either Animal or Animal + Cannibal appears in the table? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 03:39, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Also Animal was not re-released as a deluxe EP that doesn't make sense. Animal was re-released as a 2-disc release featuring Animal album on one disc and a new EP of recorded songs, Cannibal on the other. Cannibal was also released as a standalone Digital EP in some countries. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 03:43, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Cannibal_(EP)#Charts, okay, this is everywhere Cannibal and Animal + Cannibal charted. On Animal (Kesha album) its strictly Animal, only mention of Cannibal is under tracklisting. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 03:45, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, Cannibal was released in two countires, Canada and the US. All other released are Animal + Cannibal and cannot be purchased as only Cannibal.
- I'm confused now as well. I think what I meant was for a reword since Cannibal can't chart in conjuction in countries where it wasn't even released. Maybe I'm reading into it too hard. Fixer23 (talk) 03:48, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
- Theres no guideline for these kind of releases, so i was just going with what i thought made the most sense. Any suggestions help. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 03:51, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
That's what I was saying to you lol! Right treat Animal + Cannibal as a deluxe edition of Animal. On Animal + Cannibal disc 1 is called Animal (her studio album) and disc 2 is called Cannibal (her EP). Digital versions of Animal + Cannibal just featuring all of the songs continuously. In the US or Canada you can by Cannibal as a standalone EP either digitally or on CD. ... does that make sense? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 [talk] 03:56, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Music videos
Should this section include the music videos of Stephen, Animal and Take it Off version 2? They were "released". Fixer23 (talk) 08:29, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Update Blow, it has gone 32 in the UK

Certification
Blow is Platinum now in Australia. Source is the given one. Please include! --79.216.151.66 (talk) 15:05, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- The source shows the song is certified gold. Yves (talk) 15:53, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Backstabber music video
It's out there. And it was directed by Skinny again. Don't know if this source is good enough http://content.blocagency.com/la/artist-content/dance/denna-thomsen/resume/Denna%20Thomsen%20Resume%20PDF.pdf The resume of one of the dancers in the video. 155.69.2.11 (talk) 08:53, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- Unfortunately we need a high-quality reliable source published by an independent third party for this to be included. Even if a source were to be found the video is a leaked one that was never legally release and a discography consists of official releases, thus its addition to the article would still be questioned. Thank you for trying tho. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 09:03, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
New certifications
Tik tok is now 6x platinum in the US, Your Love Is My Drug is 3x platinum in the US, Blow is 2x platinum in the US. Can someone change this? SOTDH (talk) 15:08, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
- How do you know this? As far as I can tell, the RIAA website is still down. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 16:31, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
Why use 'RIAA' when you can write 'US'?
It's confusing that it says RIAA and many people must be getting confused, you should change it to US. can someone change it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sotdh (talk • contribs) 13:56, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
- Nope. Wikipedia:WikiProject_Discographies/style#Samples, Don't change it again. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 19:37, 31 March 2012 (UTC)
Run Devil Run
I know that Kesha wrote this song and it is sung by Girl's Generation. She also sang it herself as well. Shouldn't it be listed on this page somewhere? Kaylahawk (talk) 16:15, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
she didn't write it, she was just asked to do the demo, however her "run run run" backing vocals are still on the final version so that should be listed. As well, why is backstabber under "2011", it was recorded and shot in 2009 and never officially released. 2605:1300:63F4:B582:D69A:20FF:FE74:5FDA (talk) 22:42, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
Crazy Beautiful Life error
It's listed twice, an additional time in 2012 in the Warrior songs, where it shouldn't be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.58.5.40 (talk) 22:15, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Crazy Kids Peak in the US
Crazy Kids has only peaked at 49 in the US, not 41, check the source and please fix. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.140.79 (talk) 16:39, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
Sales?
All these certifications are inflated/outdated ... I think we should add the sales figures column back in ... it was better ... right? — Preceding unsigned comment added by SayaamRulz (talk • contribs) 21:37, 6 October 2013 (UTC)
No, certifications are more reported than sales and we don't have enough sales for each country whereas certifications we do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.69.140.79 (talk) 02:17, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
- It won't matter, we still have certifications and Mariah Carey discography and Jennifer Lopez discography have sales too ...
SayaamRulz (talk) 13:15, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Single Sales
There are numerous reasons four why a sales column in the singles chart should not be included. Reasons include:
- Sales figures are not available for a single for many markets; usually only US and UK are available and in this case UK sales aren't even available
- Mixing sales and certifications is messy and confusing to the general reader
- Singles' sales figures are not updated as regularly as albums, and after a few years the media stop reporting on older singles.
- Wikipedia-wide consensus tends toward the proposed WP:DISCOGSTYLE, and I haven't seen many discography pages like this.
Certifications work just as well as sales and certifications are always updated whereas sales are not. Please refrain from adding the single sales column back in for the reasons above. --- Kworbi — Preceding undated comment added 14:30, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- I disagree - The US market is the largest and ergo, the most significant. Certifications are mostly based on shipments and "the general reader" barely understands the whole certification thing. How many people do you know that are educated on how many sales/shipments a Gold is in Austria? It would go a long way CLARIFYING certifications, not confusing them. Singles ARE updated more regularly than albums, actually, especially a hitmaker, like Kesha's. Warrior's sales haven't been updated since FOREVER, and Tik Tok was announced as having 15 million copies sold a few months ago. Certifications ARE not SALES. And if you don't believe that, then look at existing examples, like Madonna singles discography or Mariah Carey singles discography - reputed artists. I hope you will now see reason as I have refuted your debate with SUBSTANTIATED arguments, and you seem to be the only user actively preventing this edit - a constructive one ... and um ... I think you'll find #7 on WP:DISCOGSTYLE to be - "sales".
