@D6194c-1cc: Kidney mentions human kidneys (of course) but is not primarily about human kidneys. The scope of the article is actually kidneys in general. Therefore I think it would be better to merge these articles. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 06:44, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Just compare the preamble of this page and the kidney page preamble. Does the kidney article describe the same kidney as this page does? No. Human kidney and vertebrate kidneys must be separated from each other. Just go the the kidney article and you'll see that article creates illusion that all vertebrate kidneys have ureter and urinary bladder. What about the erythropoietin? Does fish kidneys synthesise this hormone? Clarifications must be made for such statements, because most of readers would assume that it is common for all the kidneys. Why does the kidney article describes Chronic kidney disease, while it's mostly related to human kidneys? All the preamble is related to human kidneys. For the human kidney that article is not so bad, but it has nothing to do with other animals except only for the "Other animals" section. --D6194c-1cc (talk) 07:02, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It would be good if you could fix the lead of that page so that it it relevant to all kidneys. Perhaps all the human kidney stuff could be put into its own section. After that, if the article is too large, then would be the time to discuss splitting to human kidney. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:08, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is not only with the lead. The kidney structure is about human kidney, too. So far as other parts. Or at least it is about the mammalian kidney/metanephros in context of human kidneys. Read about the bird kidneys: [1]. You'll find major differences. For example birds cannot have the hydronephrosis because they don't have renal pelvis and urinary bladder. And their kidney form isn't bean-shaped. --D6194c-1cc (talk) 07:18, 21 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    Why don't you start a WP:RM on Talk:Kidney and see what other editors think? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:16, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the link. I've already tried to find this page. First I want to finish translation of this article (probably, a week or a month). It is much easier to explain something if it is described in details, and it saves a lot of time from unnecessary discussions. --D6194c-1cc (talk) 18:39, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, understood. You are obviously knowledgeable about kidneys, and your input would be very welcome here. I have no doubt your intentions have been in the best interests of the project, but some of your methods have seemed somewhat combative/disruptive. Feel free to ask for advice at any stage — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:30, 23 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I probably need some advice. Is there any common practice how to specify page and article section in citations? Particularly, with sources that were cited multiple times. What templates could be used for that? --D6194c-1cc (talk) 21:52, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
