Article rewrite per the sources

This article was created and written by an editor whose contribution profile resembles that of a someone editing on behalf of a client. So, I rewrote this article based on reliable sources. I removed unsourced content and promo fluff. Although there are a dozen sources almost all of them have only minor mentions of the subject of this article. I would question the subjects WP:Notability except that he is mentioned several times in two books written about the 1960s music venue, the Fillmore East.
