Should this page be moved to "Ryan Parmeter"?

[edit]

Since Ryan Parmeter is his real name, and he's no longer known as Ryan O'Reilly (now he's Conor O'Brian in FCW), should this page be moved to Ryan Parmeter? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.89.60.103 (talk) 17:27, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Conor O'Brian

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Conor O'Brian's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "match":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 21:40, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 14 April 2016

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved to Konnor (wrestler) and Viktor (wrestler). No evidence given that the wrestler is the primary topic of "Konnor" and decent arguments made that he isn't. Jenks24 (talk) 17:19, 2 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

– Per WP:COMMON. These are the common names of both wrestlers. The former is the only BLP that claims that unique spelling of his name so a hatnote to the Connor dab page should suffice. Viktor will need a qualifier like most other mononymous wrestlers, but that shouldn't stop us from moving the article to his common name. Feedback 12:41, 14 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There is no "Konnor" article. I included a link above listing the two only pages named "Konnor". One is Konnor which redirects to the Conor dab page, and the other is Konnor (wrestler) which redirects to O'Brian. WP:2DABS and WP:SIMILAR apply here. "Konnor" can refer to more than one article, but only one of them claims "Konnor" as its most common name. Therefore, it is sufficient to use a hatnote on O'Brian's page, pointing to Conor. The article at Conor covers multiple spellings of the name, one of which is "Konnor", and it isn't a dab page, it is a name article -- 70.51.45.100 (talk) 07:10, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
And that's what a hatnote is for. Read the policies linked above. Feedback 07:47, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose first move, Support second move - as 70.51 points out above, we haven't been given a rationale as to why the wrestler is primary over the given name Konnor, which is a redirect to the similar given name article at Conor. The fact that there is no BLP on Wikipedia with that name does not mean the name itself is not notable. I could be persuaded that the wrestler is a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, but I haven't seen the evidence to show that definitively yet. In book references[1] the wrestler doesn't seem to feature at all, for example. The second move seems OK, if that's the name he is predominantly used by.  — Amakuru (talk) 11:12, 22 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support move to Viktor (wrestler), but Support move to Konnor (wrestler).LM2000 (talk) 00:02, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
