[edit]

She is Iranian-Swedish according to the convention in wikipedia for immigrants from Iran to other countries. Also she perfoms Iranian music in adition to swedish music. Sangak 16:59, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move the page to her full name

[edit]

Laleh is a popular name in Iran and Afghanistan. Jahangard 04:30, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unless there isn't an article conflict, I'm not sure it needs to be narrowed down further? -- Northgrove 01:54, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved. I will note that the discussion in the above section supported this choice. Vegaswikian (talk) 18:19, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

LalehLaleh Pourkarim – She is not the only Laleh and this page should be used for disambiguation rather than to describe one person Shehzad.kazmi (talk) 12:28, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

But Laleh is also her artist name. Perhaps we could name this article Laleh (artist) instead? Freidrichen (talk) 17:52, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Swedish?

[edit]

As per Rita Ora this should say Swedish. It is where she is based. She has never performed in Iran. The mention of her holding dual citizenship is odd considering her family fled. The interview related to her family background actually states that her mother was from Georgia and that she lived in Minsk for a while. It makes the Persian connection rather tenuous. Karst (talk) 11:35, 7 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. This is supported by gudelines like WP:ETHNICITY. Her family fled and her career, notability and so on have been in Sweden. There was also discussion in 2017 that seems to support just saying "Swedish". I've changed the opening sentence and if other users disagree, discussion can be opened again. Laleh's Nationality

[edit]

Per WP:MOSBIO, the article's first paragraph uses the nationality and not ethnicity of the subject. As a Swede, living in Sweden, who sings in Swedish, Laleh is presumed to be a Swedish national. If she holds another nationality and claims it as such, we would need a citation. Please use this section to discuss this topic. Thanks much. GetSomeUtah (talk) 21:34, 30 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
