No Google Scholar results

[edit]

It's odd that there are zero results from Google Scholar if one searches for Lasius flavoniger although there should be a recent (1992) publication and there is an entry in ITIS. There are also no results for schulzi and breviscapus. Icek (talk) 10:32, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Boreal?

[edit]

What is the meaning of "boreal" in "boreal formicine ants"? The wikilink goes to a disambiguation page; I don't see an obvious candidate in the list of meanings given there.  --Lambiam 14:52, 5 December 2008 (UTC) Ants —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.30.140 (talk) 13:11, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded image misidentified

[edit]

As I am new to editing on Wikipedia, I do not know how to flag a factually incorrect image. The "Moisture Ant-Lasius" image added by JJ Grieve is misidentified: the ant is actually Formica pacifica, a common ant in the Pacific Northwest. I will refrain from describing how the genera Formica and Lasius may be separated unless asked. I would very much like to see the image moved out of the Lasius page. Thank you. I know nothing about entomology but from the little I was able to glean from a university extension data sheet] I had my doubts too. I'd say go ahead and remove the image. --ChetvornoTALK 00:10, 5 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
