Move discussion in progress

[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Able Seaman (rank) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RM bot 23:48, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

NATO Equivalance

[edit]

On this page it mentions that LS/LH is equivalent to Petty Officer, First Class in the USN. The governing NATO reference for this is STANAG 2116 which contradicts this. The equivalent is Petty Officer, Third Class. Both PO3 and LS/LH are OR-4s, E-4s in the USN if you like. If anyone has a reference to refute the NATO reference, let me know or I plan on changing this to reflect the reference a week from now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by N8Lakes (talkcontribs) 20:02, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hooky

[edit]

Longstanding nickname/informal title from at least WWI for any LS in the RN, probably from the fouled anchor badge; RS needed. Narky Blert (talk) 20:43, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
