Requested move 27 December 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus for any title at this time, and thus reverting to the stable title, Lee Eun-woo, per WP:RMUM. Please initiate a new move request if you would like to move the page to Lee Na-ra or any other location. Dekimasuよ! 07:05, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Lee Na-ra → Lee Eun-woo – Per WP:NCBIO and WP:COMMONNAME. I'm requesting to revert the recent move from Lee Eun-woo to Lee Na-ra. Whatever the subject's legal name or her new name is, the article title needs to be the name by which she is best known (see WP:NICKNAME and WP:SPNC). 153.230.18.250 (talk) 06:10, 27 December 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. - Oppose. According to the Korean Wikipedia, she changed her stage name from Lee Eun-woo to Lee Na-ra beginning with her appearance on Partners for Justice (2018). Her agency's website reflects her current stage name. Per WP:NAMECHANGES, the article name should reflect the sources. Lee hardly get any coverage in English-language media, but Korean sources do use Lee Na-ra now. ℯxplicit 06:22, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- That's just a self-published name change. According to WP:COMMONAME, "Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable English-language sources)." 153.230.18.250 (talk) 06:30, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
- Comment. Last month, the initial move, from Lee Eun-woo to Lee Na-ra was poorly done. All the instances of Lee Eun-woo inside the article are left unchanged. The references given are saying Lee Eun-woo (except Hancinema, who says "recently moved"). The reference to her own website is not given. Her last appearance (2018) is not listed. And, in any case, her Filmography must be saying: under this stage name, such and such, under that other stage name, such and such. To summarize: a better article would be better than a better name.
