Page created in error

[edit]

I created and built up this article in error, not having noticed that an article called "Muscari comosum" already existed. Leopoldia comosa is the preferred name for Muscari comosum in recent sources (e.g. the Kew World Checklist of Selected Plant Families). I have moved any extra information to this article from this version of "Muscari comosum" and made it a re-direct. Peter coxhead (talk) 10:18, 17 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A delicacy in Portugal?

[edit]

This claim in the lead is not justified in the main text, so I asked for a citation. There's no article about this species on Portuguese wiki, unfortunately. It's not impossible, but the species doesn't appear to be native to Portugal. Andrew Dalby 16:02, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Andrew Dalby: There is an error in the source, Leopoldia comosa is native to all the Mediterranean region, including Portugal, as you can see here [1] though I'm unaware of it being a delicacy, so I think it's better to leave that out. @Average Portuguese Joe: Thank you for verifying, I'm glad to know that. But, I agree, there seems to be no sign that it is eaten in Portugal. Andrew Dalby 19:44, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

German and French

[edit]

The German and French pages on this species can be found under Muscari comosum. I don't know how to add these links.

This is an inherent feature of the refusal of Wikidata editors to allow anything but 1:1 links between Wikidata items and language wiki articles. As the German article, for example, has the scientific name "Muscari comosum" it is rightly linked from Muscari comosum (Q163946). The link could be moved to Leopoldia comosa (Q22105713), which would look right here but wrong at the German article. If you are interested in the incorrect modelling by Wikidata, see my essay at User:Peter coxhead/Wikidata issues. Peter coxhead (talk) 19:12, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
