Non-lead?

Shouldn't the title of the page be "Supporting" or "Minor" instead of "Non-Lead"? JQF 17:52, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Perceived antagonists and characters who could turn out to be very important are included here. "Non-lead", while not my favorite, was the better title to describe them. 19:35, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
I suppost it will due for now, but I think at some point in the future it will need to be change. I guess when the season is farther in we'll have more info to better adjust the page. JQF 19:34, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Hank and Jackie

Should a line be added to Hank and Lisa that says they might actually work for HRG and not really Claires biological parents. Dan Bricker 16:41, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Not unless you can back that up with evidence from the show or another authoritative source. Primogen 17:32, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

Sylar as non-lead

While Sylar does seem like he is going to be an important character in the show later on, he still has yet to appear in lead role form on the show. Because of that, I've re-added him to the Non-lead characters in Heroes page and removed him from the main characters section on the Heroes (TV series) page. Aldryd (talkcontribs) 15:36, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Kidnapping Nathan?

Under the mysterious man section, it says that he kidnapped Nathan from the hotel room. As far as I remember, Bennet only said to take one of them, and the episode never told is which one. Where was it confirmed that Nathan was the one taken, if anywhere? --dws90 13:32, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

That should be taken out. In the preveiw it shows Niki waking up in the bed so that's probably where the guy got it from. The better bard 20:29, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
I've made the necessary corrections. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 20:31, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

-In addition to that, the mysterious man does approach the bed from the left-hand side, on which Nathan was sleeping. Toquinha 07:06, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

  • It probably was Nathan who was kidnapped. In previews following "Collision", I saw a 2 second clip showing Nathan taking flight straight into the sky, with Mr. Bennet and the mysterious man standing in front of him. Judging by the way Nathan looked (shirtless with blue pajama bottom-looking pants) I believe he was undergoing the same tests that Matt was going through and somehow escaped from Bennet. 69.119.252.174 19:42, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

TOC

I placed the table of contents to the left of the page to get rid of that ugly empty space. Ace Class Shadow changed it back claiming it cramped the text, but it is no worse then what a photo or a information box does to the text. --Pinkkeith 11:09, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I moved it to the right so that the begginings of the profiles line up. JQF 14:48, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
That looks better, actually. Thanks. --Pinkkeith 15:18, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem. JQF 15:55, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Zach's death or injury

I read Zach's and claire's blogs and it gives hints that zach may have hidden in the trunk of Brodys car (along with other people responding to the entry saying thats what happend). I was wondering if theres more evidence for this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.156.249.84 (talkcontribs) 20:35, 21 October 2006

Claire's latest blog post was on September 27, about three weeks ago, so it seems quite unlikely that it relates to the current story. --Psiphiorg 02:54, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

New additions

I've added Jackie, Angela Petrelli, and Molly Walker. Hope that is alright. They seem as important as some other characters listed, and certainly have had more screen time than, say, Charles Deveaux or Tina. Renenarciso 02:00, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Actor depicting Chandra Suresh changed

Actor Erick Avari was shown on the back cover of his book in episode 2 but later the image is changed in following episodes with a man wearing a turban —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.80.216.81 (talkcontribs) 22:51, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

According to IMDb, Avari will be appearing in a couple of upcoming episodes as Chandra Suresh. At the risk of speculating about things best done in a forum, I suspect that the character is still alive and being used to find people with special powers. Primogen 18:46, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Mr. Bennet is moving on to the main page?

Episode 11 will see him become a main character. [1] EnsRedShirt 05:41, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Now that he has his own page, shouldn't he be removed from this article? Or will he stay until he is no longer considered a minor character? —Esteroth12 01:22, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
There is currently support for merging the major characters and minor characters article, so it would be premature to move him regardless. Primogen 17:42, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Chandra Suresh

i think we need to be careful about saying that chandra is portrayed by eric avari. episode #4 began with the "previously on heroes" and we see the back of the "activating evolution" book. the picture is not of eric avari. actually, now that i think about it, hasn't the name of the book also changed? didn't it used to be advancing evolution or advancing genetics or something like that? when i tivo'd and paused on the front of the book (in the "previouse on heroes" part of episode 4), it said activating evolution. --Sdp4408 05:31, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

According to IMDb, Eric Avari is playing Chandra Suresh in a couple of upcoming episodes. Avari is a busy character actor, so I doubt he would be used hired just for a photograph on a book jacket. At the risk of speculating, I suspect that he is indeed playing Chandra in the series, and that his character is not really dead. After all, the bad guys (if they are indeed bad) are locating the characters with special powers somehow, so perhaps Chandra was kidnapped. I mention my speculations here only as arguments towards the plausability of the IMDb info being accurate. (Another possibility is that he appears in a flashback.) Primogen 19:05, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Don't discount 'futures taking place in the past.' Hobophobe 05:34, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
That was clearly Avari's picture on the back of the book in Episode 4. Do a Google search and compare his image. Also, it is correct to say he has portrayed the character because that is Avari's voice on the answering machine message (I've been a fan of his work for a few years and he has a distinctive voice). I think it was telegraphing things a bit to reveal Avari's face and voice because that pretty much does mean that he'll appear in the show at some point. However there are many ways this can happen: Suresh might have faked his death, he might appear in a flashback or a video recording, or there might be a time travel element (remember Hiro is hanging around). So unless someone goes hunting for spoilers, it's anyone's guess what might happen. 23skidoo 05:42, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Page too unwieldy?

Guys, anyone else think this page is getting unwieldy, and will only get worse as more and more characters are introduced? Wouldn't it be better to give most of these characters their own pages already? Some of them, like Ando and Mr. Bennet have appeared as much as many other characters classified as "leads". Renenarciso 16:22, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

I don't see anything unwieldy about this page. It is simply a list of characters, with a paragraph on each. Giving each minor supporting character his/her own page seems like overkill at this point. Primogen 17:10, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Do we really know enough about any of them to warrant article status, anyway? Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 18:31, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
The first candidates for a split (similar to Sylar) would seem to be Ando and Zack, then mabe after a few more epesodes Mr. Bennet and the Mysterious man. It would seem that we are still too early in the season to do this quite yet, but it seems sensible in the longer term. -- 70.59.241.153 23:45, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I'd disagree with those two character choices. And frankly, once again, there doesn't seem to be any reason for splitting any of them. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 23:47, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Actually we should split Mr. Bennet off to his own page as he will soon become a main charcter. EnsRedShirt 07:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
He already has his own page, not that we only know enough about him so far to justify more than a few sentences about him. Primogen 17:43, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Zach's Myspace

Do we really know that the myspace linked to is actually affiliated with the show? Or is it just a fan thing?

Yea it's the real deal. Linked from Claire's myspace which is linked from NBC. EnsRedShirt 02:58, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Mr. Bennet gets around.

I did some major clean-up to the Mr. Bennet section -- adding clarifying details, removing redundnace, and various minor fixes. I hope people see it as an improvement. But there was one sentence that bothered me that I wanted to get other opinions on: "It is possible that Mr. Bennet himself has a super power, as he appears to move relatively quickly between the distant locations where the various characters are located." Is there any indication in the show that his his ability to travel was suspcious. Before traveling to Las Vegas to attempt to kidnap Nathan, his wife reminds him not to miss his airplane. Was there anything about his travels to India or to Los Angeles (to kidnap Matt) couldn't be explained by air travel? Primogen 00:44, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Well, he'd still likely need a private jet that can move as fast as Nathan, but I definitely wouldn't say his travels are a blatent indicater of a super power. And we still don't know the limits of his "friend". Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 00:56, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
It's clearly speculation. It starts off with a weasely It's possible that... which you can use to say anything. It's also possible that he's a government agent, an alien, or something more bizarre. It's even possible that he's really a good guy looking to protect the heroes. I'm removing it. -Anþony 01:26, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

order.

Shouldn't this article be in some kind of order? Perhaps ABC, or order of appearance? dposse 22:54, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Other than the last three, it is in order—alphabetic, by last name. --Kmsiever 23:04, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
The last three are also in alphabetical order with each other, but since we don't know their last names, they can't really be sorted in with the others yet. I suppose technically, "Mysterious man" should be moved out of the alpha-by-last-name grouping, since "man" isn't really his last name.  :-) --Psiphiorg 23:16, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Ando Masahashi as main character?

I suggest we movie Ando to the table of main characters. He has more line and screen time than some of the characters in that table. He could maybe be considered the "sidekick" Hiro. In many ways, Hiro's journey would have been impossible without Ando. Hiro isn't able to speak English very well or drive a car. In addition the two have been portrayed together in much of the visions of the future.125.57.140.131 13:52, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

"Lead character" refers to the stars of the series, irrespective of their prominence. For example, the character Garak had a more prominent role in much of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine than Jake Sisko, but Cirroc Lofton (who played Jake) was one of the stars of the show, while Andrew J. Robinson (who played Garak) was a guest star. --Psiphiorg 14:40, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Generally a show's producers determine who is a lead (main) and who is a supporting (minor) character. This may be done as a result of contract negotiations with an actor, for the purpose of winning awards, or other reasons having nothing to do with the amount of screen time or lines a character has. We should go by who the show's press releases and other official announcements tell us who the main characters are, rather than trying to make the determination ourselves. Primogen 17:39, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Admittedly, the title "lead" is arbitrary. Much like how a marquee star may have little action in the movie, but has a more recognizable name. Should the article be written around arbitrary decision by a producer, or which character is actually more important to the development of the story? Also, I think it should be noted that the table of characters on the main page is of "main characters and not of "lead characters".Joshfriel 04:32, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Agreed. He's as much a main character as Simone and has, I'm sure, had more screentime than her. He even got his own sub-plot when he split off from Hiro to find Niki. He may not be a lead, but he's certainly one of the main characters. --Mister Six 09:06, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Also agreed. --Kmsiever 15:55, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
A shows's producer is an authority that we can reference in editing the article. However, if you know of another authority you can cite that says Ando is a main character, great. If not, realize that Wikipedia editors should not be doing line counts or screentime assessments and making such determinations ourselves. We don't do original research. Primogen 20:30, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
'Main' isn't the same as 'lead'. Since this is something that has cropped up for the first time on wikipedia, it should be down to wikipedians to vote and decide. --Mister Six 17:15, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure who decided to use the terminology of major vs. minor instead of lead vs. supporting. In any case, the designated major characters are currently the ones appearing on http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/cast/, which seems like a good way to as any to make the distinction. Besides, for all we know, the producers may be planning on sending Ando back home before the end of the season. In any case, this may all be moot soon, as there appears to be support for merging the major character and minor character articles. Primogen 17:52, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Mendez?

He is not confirmed to be the Precog that HRG is asking for. I suggest that it be ammended to state that she ask to deliver a unconfirmed Precog —Preceding unsigned comment added by Totallycharged (talkcontribs) 22:04, 31 October 2006

I think that's taking the "unconfirmed" thing a bit too far; give the audience a little credit. HRG asks Eden to bring in "the precog", and the next thing that Eden does is go to visit Isaac Mendez, who is precognitive. If Nathan asked Isaac to rob the bank, and the next scene showed Isaac at Heroes National Bank, would we write that Nathan asked Isaac to rob an unconfirmed bank? --Psiphiorg 03:17, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
I hold true --- they throw enough twists in --- we think we know --- but we don't. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Totallycharged (talkcontribs) 22:35, 31 October 2006
That would be a very illogical twist, and quite unfair to the audience if true. That's like saying that when Mohinder tells Eden that he and Peter went to see a heroin addict, he might not have specifically meant Isaac, even though we saw Mohinder and Peter go to see Isaac in a previous scene. I give the writers more credit than that. Primogen 03:56, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Separate Article for Mr. Bennet?

I suggest we spin Mr. Bennet off into his own article. It's confirmed that he will soon become a main character, and he's played more of a role in the show then Sylar, who already has his own article. Ergo, I recommend we give him his own article, and link to it from this page like we do with Sylar. If there's no objections, I'll go ahead and make those changes. --dws90 03:55, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

He already has his own article. But if you mean we should drop him from this article, there is a discussion underway about merging the major and minor characters articles. Primogen 17:55, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
There's also an existing discussion about the placement[broken anchor] of Mr. B. Try not to duplicate topics. We've had enough of that at Talk:Heroes (TV series). Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 22:15, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

What if Bennet and Sylar prove to be the same character? Bio 20:18, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

We merge their articles together. Primogen 20:26, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Theodore Sprague

I added the bio on Sprague, so if there's something that needs changing, feel free to edit it. But then again, duh. This is wikipeda. --Piemanmoo 08:28, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

I'd like to point out that when Sprague was threatning the nurse he said might go up like an atomic bomb. This might have something to do with the explosion seen by Hiro and Isaac. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.161.89.42 (talkcontribs) 03:42, November 8, 2006

Yes, we know. However, adding speculation to that end or arguing the point in the article wouldn't be a good idea. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 04:43, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

Anyone have an image of Sprague so we could add it to the article? Vidgmchtr 03:35, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Charley

Charley should be added to this page. Given Masi Oka's recent interview notes on Free Beer & Hot Wings that this week he'd meet his love interest, and that she notes that in the last few weeks, whether she wants it to or not, her brain's starting to remember everything, it seems likely that she's both powered, and bound to be important to the plot. ThuranX 02:09, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm sorry. Who? Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 02:13, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
The Waitress in "Seven Minutes to Midnight". I don't think she should be added unless she's not dead come next episode, or some other circumstance.. any other suggestions? 69.140.12.149 00:16, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
She's already been added. Also, she'll be appearing for at least two more episodes and has powers. Didn't see Seven Minutes, I take it. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 00:23, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Given the photograph at the end of that episode, I think it's likely that she will be featured again in "Six Months Ago", coming up in a couple of weeks. --Psiphiorg 00:29, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Eden's Power?

So it looks like she might be a hero. She used her "power" on Isaac. Seems like a sort of Mind Control. Novastarj 03:08, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree that it seems likely, but it was left deliberately ambiguous...should this be included in the article? 71.193.152.63 13:49, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
"Seven Minutes to Midnight" does imply that Eden has some kind of power. However, don't speculate on its exact nature. Primogen 14:14, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Should she be moved to the main characters page after we learn of her power? Bio 20:17, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

seems more like the power to influence, kinda like the guy from x-men 2 could influence other people... -Xornok 20:24, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
E! Online states she has the power of persuasion. I don't think it'd be considered speculation, but wanted to check with y'all before adding it in. Heaven knows we have enough edit wars over Isaac's powers. Veitch, Kristin (2006-11-14). "Heroes Redux: Sylar is Coming". E! Online. Iyer Sanjog

Should we state an ability (as there is an ambiguous nature to who's ability it might be)? If anything, he probably has the ability to make others see clairvoyant events. PureSoldier 20:35, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

All we know at this point is that he appeared in several of Mohinder's visions, and that Chandra had a file on him. All else is speculation that should not be put into the article. Primogen 20:43, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

The character's name is Sanjog Iyer (not the reverse). I am the actor who plays him. Upal12 20:01, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Consensus to merge

It's pretty much just come down ther horn at Talk:Characters of Heroes#Merge Proposal. With sixteen to four in favor, I'll merge the content of this article into the other and redirect in just a moment. I'll leave this talk page as is, though. Ace Class Shadow; My talk. 21:50, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
