[edit]These languages should be categorized more. For instance scripting languages are lumped in with other languages. Some scripting lanagues in java use the [Jakarta BSF compiler|http://jakarta.apache.org/bsf/] while others use their own BSF engine. I am not sure how to fix the article but it could be more organized.

Oxygene
[edit]Has anybody heard of this? The page it links to has notablity issues for being like an advertisment. Can we put this one down the bottom? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.10.111.38 (talk) 22:39, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Discontinued projects
[edit]I have added a comment to ibm php that it is discontinued, maybe we should introduce a section at the end for discontinued or abandoned projects. AlexLehm (talk) 13:01, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
Eiffel

Lua
[edit]There seems to be an active and supported implementation of Lua for the JVM too. Maybe this should be included in the list? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.113.76.209 (talk) 08:47, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- yea. I was wondering where there is no lua there. Seems like this is an old and stale article. 185.31.184.106 (talk) 19:42, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

Remove Xtend?
[edit]I think Xtend should be removed. It doesn't compile directly to bytecode and is instead transpiled to Java. Maowcraft (talk) 06:53, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
