Vacated victories, 2010 season

[edit]

I'm not sure how the idea worked its way into the article, that the NCAA refused the OSU offer to vacate its 2010 season victories. In any case, it is not true. OSU didn't "offer" to vacate the victories but rather, did vacate them, and this is reflected in official NCAA records for that season. I'm working through the article to conform everything that I can spot to this revision. If I miss something or get it wrong, please help! Thanks. I took kind of a roundabout way to get there (look at the sources before, not after, sheesh) but have, I believe, conformed the W/L total to the NCAA records showing here: http://web1.ncaa.org/stats/StatsSrv/careerteamwinloss JohnInDC (talk) 22:54, 13 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Strange all-time records calculation

[edit]

Please see the below table. The sum of the first three rows does not match with the final row. In addition, it is not clear whether the 'Bowl game record' includes 'CFP game record.' Whether it does or not, it should be explicitly stated. The official record book (p.16 of 45) https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/2022-FB-Media-Guide_250-293_All-Time-Results.pdf states that the all-time record is 942-329-53.

All-time records

[edit]

Records current through 2021.

Statistic Wins Losses Ties Winning Percentage
Regular season record (1890–2021) 914 299 53 .743
Bowl game record (1890–2021) 28 27 .509
CFP game record (2014–2021) 3 3 .500
All-time regular and bowl game record (1890–2021) 948 329 53 .731
