Something

[edit]

I just think that this page should be something more like List of Spider-Man comics and List of Batman comics. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ermol (talkcontribs) 21:19, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion and limited series article

[edit]

I see that this page includes spin-offs of spin-offs (eg Wolverine spin-offs like Alpha flight). Should the list of x-men limited series therefore also include series featuring such related characters? Like the Northstar and Quicksilver limited series (both were released while the titular character was no affiliated with an x-team).YobMod 12:27, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alphabetical List?

[edit]

I was in the process of sorting this page out so that it was easier to read.

I added headings that related to Current series, Cancelled titles and sub headings that separated series into different continuities. Titles that are not X-Books were removed, and additional information written to clarify how some of the series fit together.

Because it didn't fit in with someones view, my changes were undone and I have been told that I should engage in a discussion on the talkpage not change in back.

What was so bad about having headings, separating the series out and giving information about the different series? Why can't there be information on which continuity each non Earth-616 series is in? Why were my edits undone without someone speaking to me so that there was an understanding on what I was aiming to do to improve this page.

Both this page and the Limited Series & One-shot pages have been neglected of late. Lots of missing information and incorrect info that has had to be corrected. The layout on both pages are not particularly good. You only have to look at the Avengers and Spider-man list pages to see how good this page could be.Garose74 (talk) 18:26, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Because wikipedia doesn't engage in so called "in-universe" nonsense, such stuff would need to be explicitly sourced and decided on. An alphabetical list is the most convenient for such a diverse and long-running franchise. Using titles such as "cancelled" will also cause an unnecessary need for constant updates and moves. limited series and one-shots already have their own article so there is no need to split this article up based on minor diferences like that.★Trekker (talk) 19:22, 4 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree, if you read the List of Spider-Man Tiles page, there is a section on other universes other than the Earth-616 continuity. This is not nonsense but good information that collectors would want a site like Wikipedia to have listed. The source data can be gain from the Marvel web pages very easily, which is what I was in the process of doing.
As this is the ongoing page "unnecessary" and "constant" updates is a bit of an exaggeration. If you read X-Men comics like I do, the moves and changes would only take a minute or two at the most when a series is cancled. As the comic book industry is constantly updating this page requires someone who is dedicated in seeing the correct information given.
The additional series which are not X-Books still need removing, eg Alpha Flight & Deadpool. Not sure why Deadpool is on this page as the comics are already listed else where. As stated in the One-shots and Limited series talk page, Wolverine comics could do with their own page as they are so vast. Which would help de-clutter this page.
I was hoping to help make the above mentioned pages look so much better and give other users some needed and correct information about X-Men comics. Unfortunately you seem to have some passion about this page but not enough to see it improve. Garose74 (talk) 14:05, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Format your comments properly so that they can be read easily. Wikipedia is not written for collectors, it's written for everyone. The fact that another article does something does not mean any other or even it should be doing it.
Also, please don't act like a child who accuses other of having OWNissues or bias or something like that just becuse they diagree with you (as a matter of fact, if you look at the edit history of this page you will see that I have barely edited this article at all). It's pretty immature and embarrassing to see someone try to act like a victim because someone else countered their argument. Never mind the fact that the first time you edited the page to fit your view you did not even do it correctly and ended up screwing up the table of content. If you think this discussion is not good enough with just the two of us please contact the comics project and ask for input.★Trekker (talk) 05:22, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You think I'm immature? The fact that you have now lowered yourself to name calling says a lot. For your information, it was not the first time I made edits to the page, and I was in the process of correcting that error when you decided to undo everything. You haven't countered my argument, in fact you evaded most of my questions. I'm not surprised that this page in in a basic format if this is the sort of response people get for trying to make improvements.
Also, please check your spelling and grammar before calling someone a child. Good luck. Garose74 (talk) 14:48, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, you're still acting childish. You accused me first and have no high ground to stand on. You wan change, bring it up on the project like I told you or stop complaining and acting like a victim but sure no hypocrisy on your part I guess, good luck to you too sweetheart. There is no need to be polite to someone who isn't against you.
Sorry for being dyslexic and not having english as a first language by the way.★Trekker (talk) 19:59, 11 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there's no real need to counter your "arguments" with anything more than what I already have since they're entirely based on "but I want it my way!!!!" and simply goes against how we do things on this site and what would clearly be more convinient in this case.★Trekker (talk) 20:04, 11 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
