Proposed rename

Should this be renamed to List of atmospheric dispersion models? Samw 21:57, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Samw ... we meet again. I considered the title you suggested when I first began the article and I thought that it is more than just a list. Each of the models are categorized by type as well as by country of origin. Also each model includes a brief description. In the future, I hope to also add contact information for those who wish to obtain copies of the programs. For those reasons, I felt that "Compilation" was more meaningful than "List" , since the article compiles informational data ... not just a list of names. So thanks for the suggestion, but I do want to retain the current title. Regards, mbeychok 01:10, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is basically an annotated list; I agree it should be renamed to be consistent with other similar articles. I was rather confused when I first saw the title (as a See Also link in another article). -- Beland 22:08, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Beland, thanks for your comments. I am still of the opinion that this article should not have the word "list" in its title because in my opinion it is much more than a list or an annotated list. I don't quite understand why you were confused when you saw it as a "See also" link. The word "Compilation" is a perfectly good English word.
If the article were renamed simply as "Atmospheric Dispersion Models" or "Air Pollution Dispersion Models", would that be agreeable to you? Regards and Happy Holidays!! - mbeychok 23:15, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With the article on atmospheric dispersion modeling the split between a list and a detailed article on the subject can be executed. Inwind (talk) 14:56, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
