Image dispute
[edit]Joyunity, ChamithN, since you were edit warring over the infobox image, discuss it here. Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:33, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you SNUGGUMS. So Joyunity here's a good chance for you to explain why you changed the image in the first place. You changed an up-to-date and infobox image into an outdated picture of her attending a Tribeca Film Festival in 2010. Previous image was taken in 2013 and I believe it's the best available image for infobox of this article. It's confusing why you changed image to an older version without even providing an edit summary. If you forgot to provide an edit summary now you got a chance to explain your edits. Thank you.-Chamith (talk) 05:11, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
- @SNUGGUMS: It seems like Joyunity doesn't want to participate in this discussion. He's been active on Wikipedia past few days. This is what I've been trying to tell other editors. He never wanted discuss about his edits nor provided an edit summary. We have to establish a consensus as soon as possible as this dispute prevents others from improving this page.--Chamith (talk) 04:36, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- From what Joyunity said on Talk:Ariana Grande#Awards, it's best to use a pic of Ariana at an Awards-related event. I'm not sure if Joy's specific photo choice is the best one, but do agree that it should be one from something related to awards. Snuggums (talk / edits) 04:40, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- Firstly I don't think that's a picture related to an actual award show. It was taken at Tribeca Film Festival 2010, some kind of a premier. And it's outdated, if there are more recent pictures available why should we put an outdated (it's not even related to an award show) picture to the infobox.--Chamith (talk) 05:36, 27 December 2014 (UTC)

Dear SNUGGUMS and ChamithN I am sorry I have not responded sooner, I was busy focusing on other subjects. Anyways, I feel that Ariana Grande's List of awards should have the other picture because, it is at least somewhat relatable than the picture currently placed on the page. The picture is also a little overused, it was also used on Ariana Grande discography. It is a little outdated but the other picture isn't very new either, it's just a three year difference. That is all, once again I'm sorry for not responding sooner, JoyUnity — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joyunity (talk • contribs) 06:52, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
- Can you explain why you didn't provide a single edit summary to explain your edits? I was clueless about your motive. If you can communicate on the talk page that means you are capable of providing an edit summary. I've issued two notifications reminding you how to use edit summary but I don't see any progress. And you have to sign your posts by typing ~~~~ at the end of your message.-Chamith (talk) 08:05, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
Template:Awards table
[edit]I have used {{Awards table}} in the list which is considered objectionable by Musdan77 and is reverting that and also reverting my changes in which I added sources, removed some unnecessary sources, and formatted them properly. I think there is no harm in using the template since every awards list uses it, but according to him this is not what made it featured. Please help! --FrankBoy (Buzz) 12:41, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know why User:FrB.TG is doing this now. I thought we had worked it out on my talk page. Here's what happened:
- This editor thought that he could make major changes (to what was the status quo since its inception) without discussion first, and that by using the {{under construction}} template, he could make all the changes he wanted and no other editor could do anything about it -- when the template clearly states that others are encouraged to edit. After I reverted his major change, he started a discussion on my talk page. There, I explained that he should follow WP:BRD AND WP:CONSENSUS. About the Awards table template (and, of course, not "every awards list uses it"): months ago, I posted on its talk page that this template should not be used for actors or singers, and here are the reasons I gave: "1) The "Recipient" is the person receiving the award, not the film or album, etc. That would be the "Work". 2) If the table is under a heading saying the name of the award, then the column heading should be "Category", not "Award". 3) Also, those two columns should be switched around. Since the subject is the awards, it should be listed first, followed by what the award was for." The order is in order of importance. The third one isn't as important, so when FrB made his last (major) edit, I didn't revert it. So, I don't know why he's making such a big deal now. --Musdan77 (talk) 17:22, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- @Musdan77: I am not telling you to stay away from it and no one else but me should edit the page. What I am trying to say is that please don't remove the sources and what is the reason behind doing this? Anyways I am going to do the switch and I think we do not have anything else to discuss. Please don't hesitate to make other changes (except restoring the poorly formatted sources) to the list. --FrankBoy (Buzz) 18:23, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- Done [1]. Thanks for suggesting this. And BTW I never asked you to stay away from this (I just asked for some time to do the switching which I have done now) in fact I thanked you for performing copy/edits. I think it was a minor learning experience from you. I hope there is not anything else considered objectionable by you. If you have more, please do not hesitate to share it. Many thanks. --FrankBoy (Buzz) 18:59, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- Okay, how about changing the dashes to N/A or at least centering them? I'm not asking you to do it. I can make to change; I just wondered what you thought. Either of those is fine with me -- either one would look better than dashes on the left. --Musdan77 (talk) 20:44, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think both are fine. Do the one you feel comfortable with :) --FrankBoy (Buzz) 21:19, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Hi can u add 2 more awards please? Ariana WON 2 iHeart Radio Titanium Awards in 2019 for Breathin & No tears left to cry. Ivanlogon 98 (talk) 06:44, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
One tab
[edit]Why are all the awards and nominations under one tab? Why are there no descriptions? Literally no artist has this. Sixinchboca (talk) 01:10, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
- This is the current standard. See similar articles that were recently promoted to featured list status: Kylie Minogue, Michelle Keegan, and Meghan Trainor. Prefall 02:58, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
ADD AWARDS (2) FOR ARIANA’S AWARDS
[edit]Can someone add 2 iHeart Radio Titanium Awards that Ariana Grande won in 2019 for Breathin & No tears left to cry. That award if for a song with +1B of audience on the platform. Please someone add this. Ivanlogon 98 (talk) 06:41, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
Most followers on Instagram for a musician and a female musician
[edit]Selena Gomez now has the most followers
Most followers on Instagram for a female | Guinness World Records
Here, we have Gomez as a musician and actress above Grande
List of most-followed Instagram accounts - Wikipedia
On Selena's own page, it states she is the most followed musician on Instagram
Another source e.g.
"Selena Gomez is the most-followed woman on Instagram, with 429 million followers. She is also the most-followed actress and musician on the social media platform"
https://eu.usatoday.com/story/life/2024/03/01/who-has-the-most-followers-on-instagram/72524222007/
I have tried updating Grande's records to reflect this ( but it keeps getting reverted). Do not want to get into an edit war, so input and feedback from others would be appreciated.
Many thanks
Koppite1 (talk) 17:11, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- Well, according to the source, which is the most reliable, Grande still holds the record. Gomez only holds the overall female record. Mirrored7 (talk) 18:08, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
