Fix This
[edit]If you're going to split-out this as a separate article, then please at least follow a well-formatted example of this kind of article – something like List of awards and nominations received by Jennifer Lawrence.
The current version of this article looks awful. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 15:04, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
I was thinking of changing it to that honestly because this looks kind of unorganized, but I wanted to wait for the original creators to respond first.
Formatting
[edit]Hello. Thank you to those who created this article. I was wondering if the formatting could be changed to a more widely used format. It's more user friendly for mobile and web readers. One where we separate the awards from Major Associations, Miscellaneous Awards and Critics Associations. This format is used on people such as Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Claire Foy. --Ajack15 talk) 17:46, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- Okay since no one has responded regarding the issue, I'm going to change the formatting. If that bothers anyone talk about it here first before changing it back.--Ajack15 talk) 17:46, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- Give people at least a day or so at least to respond before doing anything. Consider the world wide scope of the editor pool. Geraldo Perez (talk) 18:57, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- Okay then--Ajack15 talk) 19:16, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- The current formatting follows the one that is used by the majority of the featured lists, especially the most recent ones (a few examples: Natalie Portman, Emilia Clarke or Brad Pitt). --Leo Mercury (talk) 22:40, 22 September 2020 (UTC)
- Except for the part where List of awards and nominations received by Jennifer Lawrence is a much better example of the format. Regardless, there are now two editors who are objecting this this format, and as far as I'm concerned a lot of WP:FLs get even basic stuff wrong, so there's no reason to follow the bad examples of these. (Though at least List of awards and nominations received by Natalie Portman is
muchmore responsible with the use of rowspan than the travesty of this list does...) There's no reason not to chose the best format available. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 22:49, 22 September 2020 (UTC)- I don't even know why you don't want to have a civilized discussion, with words like "shitty" or "travesty". Award lists seem to follow this format now (I can post more examples, Leonardo DiCaprio, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga). Just because you don't like something, it doesn't mean that it's a "bad example" or that other people are getting "basic stuff wrong". --Leo Mercury (talk) 09:50, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- Regardless, right now there are two editors who actively disagree with your decision. The argument that your format is more widely used is wrong if you just looked at my original post. The list as it is now is confusing and unorganized. It's an irresponsible use of rowspan. It is not user friendly for people on mobile. A lot of readers are going to have difficulty reading it. So why not just change it now? --Ajack15 talk) 12:36, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- What Ajack15 said. And, at this point, I would support Ajack15 making the changes they want. "Other articles do this" is a classic WP:OSE argument, and should have no actual bearing on the discussion – what's important is that the best format for this article is the one that's chosen. Let's see what going with the other format a la List of awards and nominations received by Jennifer Lawrence looks like here. (I'm willing to bet it will look 100% better than what we have now.) But I agree with Ajack15 that the current format one-size-fits-all-single-table is a basically terrible choice. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 14:34, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Ajack15 (talk · contribs) is going to use a format that is slightly different from List of awards and nominations received by Jennifer Lawrence and more similar to the ones that they linked before. Again, you can not say that the current format is a "terrible choice" just based on your own opinion, since it is widely accepted in the Wikipedia community. I still think we will need to hear from more than two users. --Leo Mercury (talk) 15:12, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- I'm fine with using a format similar to the List of awards and nominations received by Jennifer Lawrence article, as both my suggestion and IJBall's suggestion are more user friendly towards mobile readers, which is my main point and reason for wanting it changed. If you would like that I wait a couple of hours before making any major changes, I can do that.--Ajack15 talk) 15:50, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
- Leo Mercury (talk · contribs) I went ahead and made the changes as it's been over 12 hours and there hasn't been any input from any other editors, if that's okay with you. If anyone disagrees with the format as it is now, I'm open to changing it, if we could just discuss it here first? --Ajack15 talk) 13:58, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- Side note: if the rowspan on my edits is too confusing, I'm willing to change that too.--Ajack15 talk) 14:10, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
