I propose to merge Ambika (Mahabharata) to this article due to lack of enough content. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 16:59, 6 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Subhadra

[edit]

Subhadra should also be merged into this article, since there isn't enough sourced content to qualify separate articles. Capankajsmilyo(Talk | Infobox assistance) 03:00, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rohini Devi

[edit]

Rohini Devi should also be merged into this article, since there isn't enough sourced content to qualify separate articles. Capankajsmilyo(Talk | Infobox assistance) 03:11, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chitrāngada

[edit]

Chitrāngada should also be merged into this article, since there isn't enough sourced content to qualify separate articles. Capankajsmilyo(Talk | Infobox assistance) 03:11, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Vichitravirya

[edit]

Vichitravirya should also be merged into this article, since there isn't enough sourced content to qualify separate articles. Capankajsmilyo(Talk | Infobox assistance) 03:12, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Balarama was the seventh child of Devaki and Vasudeva but was not born to Devaki. When Rohini, one of the other wives of Vasudeva comes to meet them in prison, she requests for the foetus of the seventh child to be transferred to her womb. By this the seventh child Balrama is born to Rohini instead of Devaki. The goddess Mahamaya born to Nandrai is switched in place of Lord Krishna, the eigth child when he is secretly brought to Gokul by his father as soon as he is born. The words uttered by the Goddess(Maya) are, I am not the one you want to kill. The Eigth child born is a son and is safe in another place.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.225.106.89 (talkcontribs)

Ugrasena

[edit]

Ugrasena should also be merged into this article, since there isn't enough sourced content to qualify separate articles. Capankajsmilyo(Talk | Infobox assistance) 18:24, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Purochana

[edit]

Purochana should also be merged into this article, since there isn't enough sourced content to qualify separate articles. Capankajsmilyo(Talk | Infobox assistance) 09:41, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dhrishtadyumna

[edit]

Dhrishtadyumna should also be merged into this article, since there isn't enough sourced content to qualify separate articles. Capankajsmilyo(Talk | Infobox assistance) 06:58, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please don't merge Dhrishtadyumna and Subhadra. Their legends are long. It won't be good to merge as their informations would be limited. But I don't have any problem in merging Chitrangad. 245CMR (talk) 03:59, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose for Rohini Devi, mother of major gods and she was played a prominent role in the life of Lord Krishna, and Subhadra, who is worshipped as a deity in India. So I oppose to merge for them. I'm from Myanmar but I have full knowledge in Indian Mythology. Thanks Cape Diamond MM (talk) 11:40, 25 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I oppose all suggested mergers, and strongly so for Subhadra, Dhristadyuma, Urgasena and Rohini Devi. The remainder may stay as Mahabharata stubs. They are useful references. Whiteguru (talk) 00:24, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merger Proposal : Adhiratha, Radha (Mahabharata) and other characters

[edit]

I propose to merge the articles "Adhiratha", "Radha (Mahabharata)", "Vijaya (Mahabharat)" and "Niramitra" because these articles are stubs with little content and ref. 245CMR (talk) 12:31, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

List

[edit]

By which factor should we list the characters.

I initially supported 3rd one (groups, teams, etc.), but as there are so many characters, the Alphabetical one is the best. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 14:02, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Characters in the MahabharataList of characters in the Mahabharata – This article is clearly a list per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lists Vpab15 (talk) 16:35, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Vpab15: Then please propose move requests for Characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, etc. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 17:50, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think that would also be a candidate to be moved, since it looks like a list. Feel free to create move request. Vpab15 (talk) 18:10, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Vpab15: Will it be ok if I transform this article from just a list to full content one. I will add Historicity, Origin, Assessment, etc. If yes, then please provide atleast a month. .💠245CMR💠.👥📜 03:31, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think a brief summary as it is now is enough. A lot of the characters already have their own articles. In any case let's see what other editors think. Vpab15 (talk) 14:07, 19 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

how Shveta was killed?

Shveta was killed by Vhisma, not by Shalya. My reference is, Basu Rajshekhor, Mohabharata page 386. Mamunurrashidkazi (talk) 04:52, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed

[edit]

A wide-range of disruption as described at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#LTA sockpuppetry, puffery of Karna of Mahabharata happened at this page. No idea how much of the content is effected. Unfortunately the article is poorly sourced and thus a verification is difficult. — DaxServer (talk · contribs) 10:48, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You have given me a nice set of articles to merge/redirect - thanks, TrangaBellam (talk) 15:16, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm looking forward to :) — DaxServer (talk · contribs) 15:44, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DaxServer In the Arjuna's section, can you please remove that line "Arjuna is considered the chief protagonist, the real hero of Mahabharata". It hurts the neutral point of view WP:NPOV and the neutrality of article looks disputed and somewhere looks biased. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aptknowledge (talkcontribs) 08:46, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done And may I ask how you stumbled upon this particle sentence, this particular talk page section and knew the WP:NPOV policy in good detail for a first edit? You certainly do not exhibit like a first time editor here. — DaxServer (talk · contribs) 08:55, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Many characters in the list have their own articles. Would it be useful to use {{Excerpt}} and transclude the leads of those articles, so that we don't have to worry about citing the content here? — DaxServer (t · c) 16:32, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
