FLC

[edit]

@Dantheanimator Yes, I'll likely nominate this for FLC today if there's no major additions to the prose that you think should be made. When nominating it, should I give you attribution for the flow of some of the prose, make it a co-nom with you as paragraphs one and two have mostly the same format as your other list articles, or both? Thanks. Flemmish Nietzsche (talk) 11:07, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Flemmish Nietzsche: Completely up to you. I already have two open FLs so probably best to not co-nominate it but I think there's also flexibility for co-noms so you can add me if you want to. For attribution, I think the article history should cover it so no need to name me though I'd recommend in the FL blurb saying that you based most of the content on the Donetsk Oblast list so reviewers know it was based on the other lists in the series (also would suggest linking to the FL-promoted List of cities in Luhansk Oblast in the blurb too). Thanks again for finishing up this list! :) Dan the Animator 11:38, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Flemmish Nietzsche: wanted to check with you just in case but would you prefer I make edit suggestions on the FL nom page or just apply them directly myself? Most are relatively minor and deal with expanding sources and copyedits but there's also a minor (one-sentence) content addition I'm thinking of adding about the admin. subdivisions Russia has been applying in the areas it occupies (this would also be combined with the part of Melitopol being the Russian occupation capital). You could always revert too & comment here if you think its better as-is but wanted to check since I think it'd be easier to just do the edit myself than try to explain it. You're free to make any copyediting fixes you feel necessary; for the Russian administrative division change, I had purposefully left a sentence on that out as the Russian occupation of Zaporizhzhia Oblast article doesn't mention any change in raion division, and still says that "The Zaporizhzhia Military–Civilian Administration divided the oblast into five districts: Berdiansk Raion, Melitopol Raion, Polohy Raion, Vasylivka Raion and Zaporizhzhia Raion", though if you have a reliable source saying otherwise feel free to use it. Thanks Flemmish Nietzsche! I applied most of the edits I was planning on a little earlier so feel free to take a look and let me know what you think. There's one thing I was thinking could be added with the article that could make it better but since it isn't as necessary I'll add it on to the FLN review page for further consideration. About the raion division, you're right! Don't know how I missed that. That said, I still think its important info since for the rest of the occupied oblasts + Crimea, the old, pre-reform subdivs are used, which would make Zaporizhzhia a notable exception (I'm still thinking how best to briefly integrate that info in this article but I'll notify you here when I make the edit so you can check it). Decided to put it out the last edit for consideration before adding it myself so I replied with the suggested edit on the list's FLN page here. Take a look when you can. Thanks! Dan the Animator 03:13, 3 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
