Wording changes - this is not a "list of divisions that exist currently"
[edit]Dear Abovford I am not sure you correctly perceived the nature of this article when you added the "outdated" tag to it. This article aims to list all the divisions that have historically existed in the PLA. Whether a division does or does not exist at present does not alter the fact that it previously existed (and was the predecessor of a brigade, in many cases). For both the historical record, and to track the history of a formation, often division-> brigade, it's important to have a list of divisions, and such a list does not become "outdated" just because a division disbands. It would be also great to have a List of brigades of the People's Liberation Army, but if there was a policy change, and brigades were disbanded and divisions reintroduced, no-one would correctly mark the list of brigades outdated either - because it's part of the historical record. We are not a roling news report, and we have guidance against WP:RECENTISM. Hope this clarifies. Buckshot06 (talk) 21:22, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- If you wished to create either a List of current divisions of the People's Liberation Army or List of current brigades of the People's Liberation Army, either of them could become outdated, but not this list. Buckshot06 (talk) 21:24, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
