Marianne

[edit]

Andrzejbanas removed link for Marianne on the basis that the link does not indicate Marianne is a horror film. The link provided is this one http://www.soundonsight.org/first-wave-of-films-for-fantasia-2011-has-been-announced/. If you scroll down to the marianne entry in this article, you will see that Marianne is "a guilt-ridden father, grieving over the death of a wife he had been cheating on, finds himself haunted by more than his conscience in this eerie, character-driven supernatural horror film". A supernatural horror film is a horror film. I'm restoring the link on this basis.TruthInfects (talk) 16:13, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not all supernatural films are horror films. This source doesn't explicitly say horror, so it should not be included yet. Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:25, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
With all due good faith, you are being ridiculous. The citation calls it a horror film. see http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/23484TruthInfects (talk) 07:00, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see you have reverted it again. You wrote in your reversion "lease discuss on talk page before this is settled. Maybe I'm blind, but outside plot themes, where does that cite explicitly say it's a horror film?". Once again, I will assume good faith...On Horror film, horror films are defined as unsettling movies that strive to elicit the emotions of fear, disgust and horror from viewers. They often feature scenes that startle the viewer through the means of macabre and the supernatural, thus frequently overlapping with the fantasy and science fiction genres."
In the link above, http://www.soundonsight.org/first-wave-of-films-for-fantasia-2011-has-been-announced/, Marianne is described as " supernatural horror film"
In http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/23484, Marianne is described as "small town psychological horror drama"
In http://fantasiafestival.com/2011/en/films/film_detail.php?id=707, Marianne is categorized as "Horror / Drama" film in the field just above the slide show.
I appreciate the wonderful work that you have been doing to ensure that the List of horror films of the 2010s is accurate, but I think it is unreasonable for you to categorize Marianne as anything other than a horror film. As such, I am restoring the entry.TruthInfects (talk) 18:55, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced

[edit]

I'm adding the unreferenced tag to this page as I'm curious how a large majority of these films (many of which are not released or have little information about them) are horror films. For example, what makes The Lovely Bones a horror film? Andrzejbanas (talk) 15:22, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree. The tag appears to have been removed without explanation, I've re-added it. Please don't remove it without addressing the problem. In addition, movies that are redlinked and have no notable actors or director per WP:BIO listed should be removed. Toddst1 (talk) 06:34, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The user Zombie433 seems to be the culprit who's removing it. I've tried talking with him/her on their talk page but they just delete it with no reply. Anyone have any idea on how to get this user to listen? Andrzejbanas (talk) 00:02, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Leprechaun?

[edit]

Where is the proof that a Leprechaun film will be coming out in five years? This honestly doesn't sound like anything Jennifer Aniston would want to be a part of. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.50.145.196 (talk) 16:38, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are People MAD?!

[edit]

Where is Child's Play (Remake)? Everyone posting "Oh! Child's Play is coming back in 2010." Are all a bunch of LAIRS! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dumb91 (talkcontribs) 19:32, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced additions

[edit]

Please do not add films to this article without including proper sources. Doing so is a violation of WP:V and may lead to full page protection. Toddst1 (talk) 16:18, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to note that some of these sources being added are very weak. This one here for example. This article is becoming a mess. Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:26, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I normally would. But this user made several posts like this. I've posted on his talk page before to try and stop this behavior. But he or she just deletes those replies so I have to make the point somewhere. I've been fixing up the genre page with cites on other articles. Check out action films and adventure films for examples. Andrzejbanas (talk) 02:12, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't the decade begin in 2011?

[edit]

Shouldn't this list be restricted to films that came out on or after January 1st, 2011? Isn't the year 2010 the 10th year of the previous decade? KevinOKeeffe (talk) 18:51, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In theory yes...that might be more accurate but I don't know how much this bothers people. I think if we get more input from other editors, we can figure out if it's worth changing or not. Any other opinions? Personally I'm fine with how it is. Andrzejbanas (talk) 19:11, 23 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the article titles refer to the 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, etc., so even though decades technically start in 1991, 2001, 2011, etc., I think it's correct to include 2010 in the "2010s." We could change the article titles to reflect the sequential decades, but I think that's considerably less common usage than the way we have it now. For example, people talk a lot more about the '60s than the 197th decade. The main category title, "Lists of horror films by decade," might technically be incorrect for this reason, but I can't think of a better alternative and I don't think the current name will confuse anyone. Drive Angry

[edit]

Drive Angry is an action film, a supernatural thriller[1] according to the reviews on the film's website,[2] I don't think it should be included in the list of horror films. Thumbbook (talk) 03:27, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Allrovi says supernatural horror, which fits the entire "devil cult" theme, but since I can't find much more sources to support it, I wouldn't be against it's removal...until other sources can be found of course. It is predominantly an action film.Andrzejbanas (talk) 05:25, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Resident Evil: Retribution

[edit]

I feel that, though the series has taken on more action, this film would fall more into horror than RE: Afterlife did, and Afterlife is listed on the horror page for it's year. Retribution comes out this September and I feel it should be listed on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheResidentEvil0 (talkcontribs) 06:13, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That will depend on how reliable sources list it. --Mirokado (talk) 07:48, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Crime Films

[edit]

Why is it changed to 2010 Crime films?
