Wouldn't this article be more useful if it included other trails in addition to rail trails, such as the Cayuga Lake paths in Ithaca or the proposed Patroon Creek trail in Albany?--Triskele Jim (talk) 16:35, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A list of Trails in New York might be a useful page. RussNelson (talk) 21:03, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added List of trails on New York state. How do I fix the typo in the title?--Triskele Jim --Triskele Jim (talk) 19:03, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The bar at the top of the article has "article", "discussion", "edit this page" ..... "move". Click on move. RussNelson (talk) 19:31, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't the Mohawk Hudson Trail deserve it's own page?--Triskele Jim --Triskele Jim (talk) 19:03, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, absolutely, every trail should have its own page. In time ... they will. Feel free to pick one you know about and write it up! RussNelson (talk) 19:31, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trails that are only partly rail trails

[edit]

West of Schenectady, the Mohawk Hudson Bike/Hike Path is a canal towpath trail. Should this be mentioned in the list? If so, how? Or is it okay as it is now? --Triskele Jim 17:03, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know. Didn't a lot of those canal towpaths become railroad lines, or weren't some of them at least owned by railroads? -------User:DanTD (talk) 00:11, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have to point out something else; If and when the Laurel Hill Rail Trail is expanded along the right-of-way for the Babylon-Northport Expressway (a road I think should never have been cancelled), it will become a partial rail-trail too. I don't think it should be eliminated from the list once that happens. -------User:DanTD (talk) 00:17, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is there any concrete evidence that the former segment of the Central Railroad of Long Island main line within the Kissena Park Corridor is an official rail trail? ---------User:DanTD (talk) 14:03, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
