Will one of you who is a specialist in the logic of these movies please explain the logic of the following?

We are told that Itto cuts off Gunbei's right but that at the end of the story Gunbei is "happy to see Itto live to fight another day."

Why would Gunbei be happy to see that man who cut off his arm "live to fight another day?" (71.22.47.232 (talk) 06:28, 30 September 2010 (UTC))[reply]
