Content returned, redirect link removed
[edit]Transferred info back from the Berkeley Student Cooperative page subsection back here. Expanded it. There's definitely enough for a separate article. Rybkovich (talk) 21:28, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Reliable source
[edit]Most of our rules are not absolutely set in stone and I think one of the blog citations used several times - https://www.bsc.coop/housing/our-houses-apartments/lothlorien, can qualify it as a legitimate source. I looked up the author, he was a Lothlorien resident, majored in architecture, and received a graduated degree, both degrees directly relate to the content of the post. We can see that the post was done professionally - diagrams and reference, as well as how the relevant study was conducted. Also you can see that the blog was run for almost four years, and has multiple posts re the same topic, all done in the same high quality, professional manner. So as a source the blog should be considered as reliable. Rybkovich (talk) 22:15, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
Coordinates/map
[edit]@Metropolitan90: Does housing template give a way for the geographic location to be visible, without clicking on coordinates? It's one of the key factors that people are considering when looking at housing info. Rybkovich (talk) 02:51, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- I don't know if it's possible or how. But if people are coming to this page to research where to live, they would be better off looking at the BSC's own site at https://www.bsc.coop/docs/bsc_map.pdf which shows where all the BSC houses are located. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 05:10, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Lothlorien Hall → Lothlorien house – This cooperative house is never referred to as a "hall", unlike the majority of other houses in the Berkeley Student Cooperative it is referred to without a descriptor following the name (like Ridge House or Sherman Hall). However leaving it without some descriptor makes it easy to confuse with Lothlorien from Lord of the Rings Rybkovich (talk) 02:42, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Common usage appears to echo what the nominator points out, that it is commonly called just Lothlorien (which also appears to be its official name too). Neither Lothorien Hall or house appear to be common at all. Therefore, I'd suggest instead moving it to Lothlorien (co-op), or another applicable parenthetical disambiguation.--Yaksar (let's chat) 03:58, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
- Shouldn't "House" be capitalized as its a specific place rather than a generic term. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:40, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Crouch, Swale: I would think House would be capitalized only if it's part of the name of the organization which it is not in our case. Using parenthetical disambiguation as @Yaksar: suggested "(co-op)" makes sense. Rybkovich (talk) 06:27, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
- Yes that could be done if "house" isn't part of the name. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:02, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
First photovoltaic solar panels on a cooperative house?
[edit]Did Lothlorian really have the first photovoltaic solar panels on a cooperative house? I live in a co-op in Madison Wisconsin that has photovoltaic solar that we installed in 2002, and there are probably co-ops that did it before us.
Should I modify the text to take out the claim of being first? Blueluck (talk) 03:42, 3 March 2023 (UTC)
