Abraham Lincoln statue

[edit]

Deleted Daily Nebraskan link (dead, and I can't find a copy of the article online) and replaced with other source citations. Changed the wording, as all the other sources suggest the statue was destroyed because the World's Fair official thought it ugly, too modern, or offensive. I don't find a reliable source suggesting it blocked the light to anyone's office.11 Arlington (talk) 06:35, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed this section

"and a copy resides in Lincoln, Nebraska at one end of the pedestrian mall, after the children of Lincoln collected "Pennies for Lincoln" to pay for the cost of casting the statue." What was there before this was added was that there was a plaster version of LS's Lincoln statue in Lincoln Nebraska. I believe that the bronze Lincoln statue in the pedestrian mall is the one by Daniel Chester French." Carptrash (talk) 17:38, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
