Lviv under Polish occupation?

"Fleck was born in the Ukrainian city of L'viv, then under Polish occupation..."

Poland may have controlled Lviv between 1349 and 1772, and again between 1918 and 1939, but considering that Fleck was born in 1896 the above hardly seems a correct description.
