Need additional references
[edit]I'd like to find a good reference for Lyn Christie's date of birth and place of birth - so far no luck.
The initially listed date of birth (August 3, 1928) is based solely on another wiki entry: Portal:Music/DateOfBirth/August 3. I have no reason to doubt this date but using it may not be appropriate because a Wikipedia article should not be used as the sole "source" / reference document for another wiki article. Need an independent verification of birth date / birth year.
Also place of birth. Dr. Christie is always referred to as being "Australian" but I have not been able to find an independent reference showing place of birth.
- The German Wikipedia article on Lyn Christie indicates he was born in Sydney on 1928 August 3. There is no in-line citation but The Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz by Leonard Feather & Ira Gitler is the only reference listed so this information may have come from that book? The German article also goes on to say he grew up in New Zealand and studied medicine (and played Jazz) in Australia. I do not have access to The Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz but if anyone else does, it would be great if you could include this birth date / birth place information in the English article (with citation) as well. - Almost eight years later, I've added a Google Books link to page 128 of Feather & Gitler's The Biographical Encyclopedia of Jazz (2007). It verifies d.o.b. and gives Sydney as place of birth. It also verifies other content.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 00:24, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
