Sorry, some hungarian text: Kedves PistolPower, nem hiszem hogy korrekt dolog a sajat politikai nezeteidet ilyen harciasan vedeni a wikipediaban. Az, hogy az allam mennyire tamogatja a nepszabadsagot es mennyire a magyar nemzetet eleve nem tartozik az ujsagok szorosan vett ismertetesehez, bar teny hogy igaz amit irtal. De a nepszabadsag se nem szocialista, se nem kommunista (a historyt elnezve eredetileg a kormany is kommunista volt, ez azt hiszem mindent elarul az elfogultsagodrol..), es ha egy picit is az NPOV fele szeretnenk elmozdulni, nem kene visszairni a cikkbe.

Rewrite required

The whole article seems to be a mess. Most notably, the common topics part seems way out of place. It should be more structured, more information should be added about the newspaper's history, editor in chief, circulation and leaning. Anyone want to help? Cleanup

I cleaned it up a bit, while agreeing that it needs a major rewrite. My main purpose was to make the English easier to read (it was painfully unidiomatic), while trying to keep the ideas of the original writers alive - for now, I have no wish to rewrite the substance of what was there. Some of it I frankly don't get - for example, if the young and the adult population favour the left-liberal media (not medias, by the way), who then reads Magyar Nemzet - babies? Also, what is the special traditional Hungarian way of life, as opposed to the traditional Austrian, Polish and Italian ways of life? I understand that people living the traditional life never strayed from the path of marital fidelity, always went to church on Sunday and never got drunk, but this idealized rural heaven was true for all of Europe, wasn't it? Also, what is a ceremonial tone? I don't think one English speaker in a thousand would be able to guess its meaning. But I don't want to insult anyone by using pompous, moralizing, academic or simply incomprehensible. Any suggestions? Gsandi 13:10, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Article suggests Magyar Nemzet has a biased pinion, but they are only stating what is fact.

No, they do not CONSIDER it! Severe econimic decline in Hungary is FACT, the collapse of hungarian forint currency was avoided by 15 billion euro loan guarantee from the IMF an the EU central in late October 2008. More than half of that allocation has already been used up by Hungary. Industrial production in Hungary fell 27% since September 2008, unemployment went over 10% last week (the official figure, in reality is higher).

Widespread moral decline is also fact, media is full of court cases with regards to bribery among public officials, fraudulent taxless sales of state property to off-shore speculants and growing violent crime rates. Rage against the ethnic gypsy people has been strong in recent months, after a series of extremely violent murders committed by gipsy gangs, which led to a series of blood revenge attacks by a hungarian underground para-military organization and declaring the state of emergency was narrowly avoided.

Diplomatic relations with neighbouring Slovakia are in ruins, after the socialist-libertine hungarian government neglected to block the oppressive slovak state language law proposal at early stages. The law is now in effect, prohibiting hungarian speech in public for the indigenous magyar ethnic minority living in Slovakia. Wake up, guys!

I believe, that right now this article is very far from objective. There are even logical-grammatical problems here, within the text. No citations at most of the claims. Of course, one can put citations to many of them, from not very believable sources. The goal would be to make it readable, not looking like it is written by a member of some strange suicide sect.
