Pinging @Jesswade88 and Duncan.Hull: as primary contributors to this article. @Acadwiz1: in the subject's employ, would like to help with updating and improving this article, but was initially unaware of the COI guidelines. I recently reverted their additions as possibly POV / PROMO, but they've since disclosed. I was just here fixing template errors and have no subject matter expertise.
I'm wondering if either of the primary contributors could help review Acadwiz1's version for content policy compliance, and reinstate material as appropriate, keeping in mind that the subject is an academic and not a predatory entrepreneur or non-notable commercial entity; or help Acadwiz1 through making appropriate edits and edit requests as a disclosed paid editor. Dr. Mala Rao conveys her gratitude to all of you for making contributions to her page. I was employed by her to make revisions to the page as she noticed a lot of the information on her page was misleading and incomplete. She wanted the authors to know that as much as she respects the authors and editors, she cannot keep that information as it is not right on her part as many people refer to that page in various conventions she attends.
The following is the message conveyed by Dr. Mala Rao:
Thank you so much for all your work on revising my wikipedia page. The background to this, as you know, is that as a senior academic working on public health issues of global importance, I am often invited to give lectures, contribute book chapters, and so on. I became aware only earlier this year that there was a wikipedia page dedicated to me when conference organisers informed me that they had put together my biosketch for the conference, based on information they had found on this page. When I looked at it, I was very grateful to the authors who had created my page, but concerned to note inaccuracies and gaps in the information.
I had not been consulted by the authors and I was unable to edit and correct my information. Yet, colleagues continued to rely on this information to find details of my career and achievements. I felt that the responsible thing for me to do was to help the authors revise the information and to ensure its accuracy, relevance and completeness.
I am grateful to you for agreeing to undertake this task. I would be content for you to share this message with the authors. Please thank them on my behalf for creating my page. Please also request them to replace the previous pages with the background and career sections which I have prepared and emailed to you, so that the details are both correct and cover the stages of my career and achievements more fully.
My thanks to you and to the authors for your assistance.
Best wishes
Prof. Mala Rao

Regarding the edit, the information on my edit was all provided by Dr. Mala Rao herself. Thanks in advance. Keep me posted about any developments that happens to the page.
Can I start making changes accordingly, or will it be reverted back to the version I created. It would be great if I could get some clarification about it. Acadwiz1 (talk) 06:21, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
