Fair use rationale for Image:Fixme.jpg

[edit]

Image:Fixme.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:51, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At the bottom of this page is a link to Matt Webb, an article about a British radio presenter. Is this right? 86.20.232.204 (talk) 14:37, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Release Dates

[edit]

Does anyone know the dates, or months, of when they released "Say Anything", "Decided to Break It" and "Shake Tramp"? I need to update the singles section on their album page for "Fix Me".

merge non-notable EP Marianas Trench (EP) and Fix Me to band per WP:N

[edit]
The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result was do not merge into Marianas Trench (band). -- DarkCrowCaw 14:16, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Without sources to indication notability, any pertinant info from Marianas Trench (EP) and Fix Me should be merged to this article per WP:N. Active Banana (talk) 20:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And the various non-notable singles as well. Active Banana (talk) 17:47, 8 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sick of Canadian bands not getting as much attention on Wikipedia. unless you are RACISTS leave it the way it is. 206.45.0.225 (talk) 21:35, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you provide sources and not insults, it will be merged. And last time I looked, neither American or Canadian was classified by anyone as a race. Active Banana (talk) 21:44, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you insult Canadians, you will be called a racist, I'm not being technical, I'm loosly saying that excluding Canadian articles verges on racism. 206.45.0.225 (talk) 22:33, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, there are NO non-notable singles, they have ALL charted on the Canadian Singles Chart and the Canadian Hot 100, this is another example of "racism". 206.45.0.225 (talk) 16:07, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I move that all of these merge templates get removed IMMEDIATLY. 206.45.0.225 (talk) 16:09, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Any basis in policy for your opinion? This is not a vote. WP:MUSIC clearly says that if third party references can only provide a chart position and nothing more, there is no justification for a stub article. And please, continued accusations of "racism", especially such unfounded and inaccurate claims, are not appropriate. If you want the articles to stay as stand alone articles, then it is up to you to do a little leg work and find third party sources such as professional reviews in places like Rolling Stone, Spin, Vibe etc. that will actually back up your claim that the singles/albums are notable and the issue will be completely resolved. Active Banana (talk) 14:40, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, not racism, prejudice. And all of the singles have charted on the Canadian Singles Chart, if Canadian articles were'nt so left out, we could expand these articles, I know they are noteworthy because they have all charted on a major chart. 24.77.173.236 (talk) 17:32, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Making accusations against other editors motives, whether calling it racism or prejudice, is not appropriate. And have you actually read WP:N and WP:NSONGS? In case you havent bother to click and read, I will quote them here: "Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article" and "Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album."(emph added) Just because they may have charted does not indicate that they should have an article. Active Banana (talk) 17:53, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We could easily expand these articles, but because they're Canadian no one really cares. 24.77.173.236 (talk) 23:42, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
This "we could easily source them but noboddy cares" that you talk about is you. And if weyou are not willing to do the sourcing now that you claim is so easy to do, "we" can merge the articles until "we" are actually able to produce these sources. Active Banana (talk) 03:09, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will find sources, just tell me what the information I need to source is. Also, I'm okay with you MAYBE merging the EP but not Fix Me. I am really really sensetive about Canadian content being considered less important, and you're clearly not Canadian so you don't know what it's like. But I am proud to be Canadian and I think Canadians are just as important as Americans. Also, when did I write "we could easily source them but noboddy cares", I never said that. So I think instead of rushing to remove these articles, we should be rushing to expand them. So just tell me what I need to source. 24.77.173.236 (talk) 04:30, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

checkY Merger complete. Marianas Trench (EP) -> Fix Me, I also merged the singles from Fix Me into the album's article. I figured it would be a better fit then plugging all of it into the band's article which was the original proposed merge. If I come across more singles, I'll merge them into their respective albums. --DarkCrowCaw 14:16, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Debut Australian Tour

[edit]

The band Marianas Trench have announced their first debut tour of Australia in addition to their appearance at the Fat As Butter Festival in September 2012. The band's page has been added to the list "Wikipedia articles in need of updating from July 2012." More information needs to be added to this page to update it. I have recently updated the article to mention the upcoming tour dates which, when the dates pass should have the tense of the paragraph changed to past.

I wasn't sure about the citation of the article. Has it been done correctly? If not, could someone please help me fix it and tell me what was wrong. The help would be greatly appreciated. If you have any other questions, queries, concerns or can help me with additional information feel free to see my talk page. BYEFandom (talk) 12:24, 7 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]

How do I fix the citation to say that I retrieved the article from Top 40 Countdown Australia? BYEFandom (talk) 18:05, 8 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]

Vocal Range

[edit]

I've removed the following section as it does not cite any sources, and so it is difficult to know whether it consists only of original research. Does anyone have any sources for the information? Thanks, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 20:47, 27 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Lead singer Josh Ramsay has a considerably wide vocal range, from D3, or a D below middle C in live performances of "Beside You" and as high as B6 in Masterpiece Theatre III. Ramsay has been known to use his falsetto, one of the reasons for his extended vocal range, and much of his earlier music with Marianas Trench from albums "Fix Me" and "Masterpiece Theatre" and some of his newer music with "Ever After" has implemented screaming. Guitarist Matt Webb, who has been known to alternate lines with Ramsay while performing live, has been known to reach as high as a B5 in one of their songs from their eponymous EP, called "Feeling Small". Performing live Webb has used his falsetto to reach as high as an E5 in Masterpiece Theatre III. Bassist Mike Ayley and drummer Ian Casselman both have vocal ranges comparable to those of basses, Ayley reaching at least an F4 performing Haven't Had Enough live. Casselman's range is generally unknown, save for a solo venture covering "You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch", where he hits at least a G3.

Tour Section

[edit]

Section is a bit of mess, with an endless list on one-sentence paragraphs. How about subsections for tours, side projects and award shows, with bullets. Thoughts? --FeldBum (talk) 20:24, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The touring info/section could be split off into a separate article along the lines of this. Yeepsi (talk) 20:32, 8 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
