Pakistan ranking

[edit]

I am planning on removing the Pakistan elevation ranking from the infobox per reasons given at Talk:K2#Pakistan rankings. Reply at the K2 talk page or here if there's an objection. --RacerX11 Talk to meStalk me 00:51, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

In the section Sources, I found:

  • Major Raja Shaheryar Khan: The Pakistani army officer who was part of this first expedition to summit K-1, was Captain Raja Javed Akhter Khan, who was killed in the 1971 war between Pakistan and India, at the rank of a Major. Javed took first Pakistan and Pakistan Army expeditions to peaks including Broad peak in 1969.

That is not a source. It is an unreferenced information. If you add it again, please find an appropriate section and reference it. --Error (talk) 23:52, 4 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Masherbrum exploration

[edit]

Masherbrum's earliest Western explorer was Haversham Godwin-Austen (1834-1923), of the Kashmir Survey. ICite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).</ref>n 1860, he explored and mapped its southern versant from Hushe, up to about 6000m. In August 1861, while surveying K2, he climbed a northern spur of Masherbrum to a point about 1000m above Urdukas, on the Baltoro.
