Proposed deletion

[edit]

I've removed the PROD as per WP:NMUSIC:

  • He has a biography (as distinct from merely a listing) in the All Music Guide, and has been the subject of non-trivial coverage in The Times
  • He has played with two notable groups - Felt and Saint Etienne
  • His solo album was released on Cherry Red Records - one of the more important indie labels - and his songs also feature on several notable compilations.
  • He was the sole songwriter of Primitive Painters, which reached number 1 in the UK indie charts [1]

I've also added in a few decent refs, and will try and work the article up a bit more over the next few days.

Nice work, and glad you've rescued the article. I think the Go Kart Mozart DEEBANK sentence should be deleted as it's trivia, but I don't feel strongly about it - what do you think? Rostz (talk) 14:12, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem - Felt are one of those bands that are important without being particularly famous, so their notability is there but not obvious. I'd leave the DEEBANK thing in - it's borderline trivia on its own, but would be meaningful when put in the wider context of Lawrence's sometimes turbulent relationship with Deebank, for example by being contrasted with the line in "Ballad of the Band" where he calls Deebank "a total jerk" JimmyGuano (talk) 17:31, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
