[edit]Exhaust system page currently refers only to internal combustion engines so I have piped the link to Blast pipe. 82.21.65.109 22:54, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Name
[edit]According to the reference given in the article, the engineer's name was Maurice (not Jean) Lemaître. Needs further investigation. -- Picapica (talk) 03:45, 31 December 2017 (UTC)
It was Maurice: see US Patent at https://www.google.com/patents/US1855976 -- Picapica (talk) 10:49, 31 December 2017 (UTC)

Jean Lemaître (mechanical engineer) → Jean Lemaître – This article has a somewhat volatile title history, with different editors disagreeing as to whether the subject's common given name is "Jean" or "Maurice", but so long as the article is at Jean, it does not need a disambiguator. I bring it to WP:RM in case it turns out that it really should be at "Maurice". BD2412 T 02:51, 17 February 2021 (UTC)—Relisting. Jerm (talk) 16:31, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. This article was created as "Jean Lemaître", then unilaterally moved to Maurice Lemaître (mechanical engineer) and subsequently unilaterally moved to Jean Lemaître (mechanical engineer). If there are arguments that this main title header should be moved to Maurice Lemaître (mechanical engineer) or to Maurice Édouard Jean Lemaître or even to Maurice Édouard Jean Joseph Ghislain Lemaître, then those arguments may await consensus or be revived in a future RM. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 06:31, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Restore to Maurice Lemaître (mechanical engineer) Only subject in French railway journals and books is "M.", and only Jean is vice-inquisiteur Jean Lemaître (inquisitor). In ictu oculi (talk) 11:22, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Support this option.--Ortizesp (talk) 14:41, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Comment. The Belgian mechanical engineer Maurice Édouard Jean Joseph Ghislain Lemaître (born 1898), who is the subject of this English Wikipedia entry, but has no entry in any of the other language Wikipedias, may have been confused with same-named (although the name is indicated without the diacritic) French mechanical engineering educator Jean Lemaitre (born 1934), whose name is not listed in Wikipedia under any language. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 01:52, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- Restore to Maurice Lemaître (mechanical engineer) since his patent and everything else I can find about him call him Maurice. (the user who moved it to Jean has not been heard from in over a year, and is blocked; not clear what he was thinking.) Dicklyon (talk) 01:31, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
